Thomas Duncan Community Hall — Attraction in Lafayette

Such a beautiful place horrible service communication was horrible.... I had my wedding here. Everything was planned prior to the event happening.. I was told I was scheduled From 2pm to 3pm to come in and decorate. My wedding started at 5pm (at a different location) to come in and decorate, they waited to call me at 2pm to express that they said I was on the schedule from noon to 2pm and asked where the decoraters were at. I expressed to her that my mother was decorating my wedding and she was on her way.. and that i was told 2pm - 3pm. They acted as if I was in defalt because they gave me the wrong time. I was given no paperwork on it ( i was told it was their gift to us, then they upcharging us to decorate) . Then they added an additional $200 the date of my wedding so my mom could go in decorate ....it's was a Disaster a brides nightmare!!!! My mom and so many others was so stressed out...I don't recommend them...if u do use them make sure u get everything on paperwork NO MATTER...

We just had our wedding at the hall and it was beautiful with very minimal decorating on our part. The hall itself is lovely and the stage was a great place to have the ceremony. We hired a pianist and she played the baby grand piano - it was lovely. I also appreciated how much Aura worked with me to make sure we would have enough seating for all the guests while also making enough room for me to walk down the aisle with both my parents. We had almost 200 guests and everyone had a place to sit. It was also comfortable for our guests and for the bridal party as the hall has lots of little rooms in which we could get ready and in which our guests could meander pre-wedding. Finally, I loved how many nice shots my photographer was able to get at the hall. The big windows make a great background and there's a little mini-garden that's nice for cozy shots as well. Fabulous experience from start to finish! Jessica & her team were incredibly responsive and excited to partner with us for our event. We had timely communication responses, and were given a heads up on parking at and around the venue. The day of the event, Jessica & her team were completely set up and ready for us, even going the extra mile to have the room prepared to our specifications. They ensured our technology worked and that our guests were welcomed. When we were done, they told me they'd handle everything. I am SO grateful for this gem of a space.
