Old World Market — Attraction in Lake View Township

The mainly reason why I went to this store is because I wanted to buy different seasoning and spices and a friend told me that I can get all of it in this store at great prices. It is my first time in the store and it is clean, kind of spacious I seriously thought it was just a small grocery store but it is bigger than I expected and everything inside was well organized. My friend was indeed right the store has a variety of seasoning and spices from different countries and there are even a bunch of unique products. The prices are also seriously cheap which is really great. The staff in the checkout was also nice and friendly. I did not fully explore the store but I can say that it is a nice, organized and well stocked grocery store and the products they have that I saw like their produce is fresh and in a good quality. I would definitely be back for the spices and I would also recommend this to my family...

The only thing I can say about this store is that the store prices are affordable. But the workers are hostile and disrespectful. I recently visited the store and this cashier lady continued to stare aggressively at me. She had attitude when talking to me at the checkout. I have never experienced this elsewhere.

Be careful with your things at the store too! I had a cousin visit this store once and being a first-time customer she thought that if she misplaced a personal belonging it would be there, but she was mistaken. She returned to ask for her missing clutch bag that was set on the counter and in the cashier's line of sight, but they denied seeing her at the store and her bag.

I fear leaving my stuff at the store, which is apparently a store policy. Be mindful of your surroundings and the workers at the store. It is not what you would expect of a local African store. Very poor...

When I first moved here i needed my one market to call my home for all my ethnic food needs. However, through the years I have notice the quality is diminishing. I bought a spice on shelf and when I got home, I saw it was expired. Then the fish.. I got catfish before, went home , fried it and it was nice and soft. Now their “fresh fish” I believe is just frozen fish they set out to thaw maybe night before I don’t know. But it did not even cook normally, like nothing could cook it (fry, bake, broil). Then, when I got a hint of crispiness from the broil, I took a bite and it was very very rubbery, almost inedible. I also got goat meat as well and it was more bone than meat. Please management fix the meat and seafood.

Staff is nice, friendly, and helpful but sadly this will not help...
