Visited once on Sunday adult night. Advanced old style skater. The rink, like most I have visited are long in the tooth & well past the pristine shape in decades past when they were first built. Skaters are a dying breed & revenues are not what they used to be in this business, so things that could be better maintained might need to be ignored. With that in mind... my rating is closer to a 4.5.
The floor appears to be urethane, and did appear to be recently redone. It looked like a typical sized rink. It was quite enjoyable â nice and smooth with no noticeable defects at all. Aside: the appearance of the refinish was subpar & looked like it may have been someone that learned from watching a YouTube video. A slight chemical odor was still present. This may be the short term price to refinish.
The skaters on adult nice spanned 18-70 yrs old. It was relatively low key on Sunday with about 80 ppl. It seemed like the older adults spent much of the night just socializing off floor. I think it would be safe for newer skaters - the floor wasn't too fast, and generally the slower skaters hung out toward the middle.
The staff (young kids - who else wants this really part time gig) were quite friendly for the limited times I spoke with them.
While I wasn't a huge fan of the DJ's specific music choices, I do commend him for not being a conformist. It was interesting music. The DJ hardly spoke at all. He didn't engage with the skaters, at least while I was there. I think he could have called it in.
The building seemed to be in a safe area - it was just across from a Home Depot, and behind a fast food place. Most of the parking lot was dirt, but they had some spots at the front that were asphalt.
All said, the most important think it me is the floor quality and size. Next is how busy it is - too busy and you are just spending the entire time dodging everyone. Third is whether the skilled set of patrons have a turf attitude. I didn't see it on Sunday anyway.
If I am back in town I'd probably...
Read moreWe chose this place over the other roller ranks because it said on the website they were doing discounts between 5-8 pm with admissions being $5 and skate rentals at $3 but when we got there the employee had no idea about it so we had to pay full price. It wasn't that big of a deal except they don't have the things for kids to hold on to when they are learning and our kid was getting very frustrated and it wasn't just ours lots of kids were struggling. After only 35 mins our kids wanted to go home because of it, they were frustrated from falling so much. The other rank has the things that they use to help hold them up as well as the plastic wall around the skating rink that they can grab onto if they are going to fall. After paying $80 for just 4 of us we were determined to make it work by holding the kids hands and pulling them up when they fell but that got exhausting fast, the whole experience was just unpleasant. None of their arcade games work and when I say none I mean not even 1 game worked they were all shut down, so you can't win prizes you pay 1 penny per 1 ticket so you can buy a prize. They don't play any fun games like red light green light or anything like that, both other places do. They also don't sell socks so make sure you have some. Anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed to leave the building and then come back in even if you paid so if you need to run to your car the kids can't go with you or they won't let them back in but they will let you back in....what?? So weird.. and in the entrance they have a sign that says no outside food or drinks even water and if you bring your skates from home the sign says they will search the inside of your skates to make sure your not sneaking food or drinks in....again what??? Next time we will definitely be going to the other one we have had much better experiences there. The only good things about this was the guy at the front was very nice and the music and lights were good other than that we were extremely disappointed and won't...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I booked my daughterâs 10th birthday party here only for it to be a disappointment. When we arrived the facility smelt like marijuana. We were greeted when we walked in and taken back to the party area. I asked Ailaya what pizza we can order and what type of soda they had. She said they ran out of pop the night before and had to see what they had. She came back and said they only had Dr.Pepper and Sprite, so I preferred what was offered and available. Once our party started to arrive the kids started skating. The pizzas were brought out and were advertised as large but were small pizzas. Once the kids were done eating I asked for the manager and I made a complaint about the soda situation and the pizza size. He said he would tell the other manager when she got back. Not once did the host come and check on us to see if we needed anything else. I cleaned up the party area by myself. Before leaving I asked for the manger again, Keke came back with our host. I explained everything to her and she said they tried to fix it by getting other pop but it was too late, I said they shouldâve been better prepared knowing they had a birthday party to host. She asked what I wanted and I said some type of discount for poor service and for not receiving what was listed on the website for the party package. I received a $30 discount which I feel wasnât fair. The package said they would announce my daughters name for recognition but that never happened either. The bathrooms smelt like porta potties and all of the workers didnât seem to care about their jobs. Horrible customer service...
