Thai me up & throw me overboard, I've found another great local eatery that rocks my Bangkok!
Formerly Tantalizingly Thai many moons ago, Nayada Thai Cuisine serves up authentic Thai dishes conveniently across Carson Blvd. from the Long Beach Town Centre.
Perusing the lunch specials, we decided to go with the chicken satay & pad see ew.
Lunch specials come with the choice of soup or salad and...............free mini-scoop of coconut pineapple ice cream!! Rice included as well, except with the noodle dishes.
Chicken satay- 3 delicious skewers of chicken, rice, peanut sauce & pickled cucumber & bell pepper. The chicken skewers were tender & tasted delicious with a liberal helping of peanut sauce. Skippy has nothing on Thai peanut sauce, I tells ya! The pickled veggies added a welcome brightness to the dish. Not huge portions, but enough to content.
Pad see ew- Great dish! With my choice of protein (pork/beef/chicken/tofu), I decided to go with pork. The wide rice noodles were perfectly chewy, the meat tender & the gailan crunchy. A lot of flavor packed in each bite. My favorite dish this visit.
Coconut pineapple ice cream- Coconut ice cream with candied pineapple inside & on top, the mini-scoop was cooling & satisfying. With a dense texture, the ice cream was loaded with coconut flavor & the bits of candied pineapple added contrast & texture. A small portion, but enough to where I didn't feel bad indulging, the coconut pineapple ice cream was a wonderful respite from the heat of the day.
Service was good. The restaurant was kinda busy for lunch, so it took awhile for my pad see ew to come out. Our waters were refilled during our meal & the servers were polite when dealing with them.
Ample seating via booths & tables. Nayada Thai has an open layout, with 3 flatscreen TV's for your viewing pleasure. The men's restroom was clean, with a pleasing décor.
Parking is in a small private lot shared by several businesses. Spaces may be hard to come by, which may facilitate parking across the street at the LB Town Centre by Carl's Jr. & America's Tire.
Sawadee krap, Nayada Thai Cuisine! I enjoyed my first visit to your establishment, making sure to take advantage of your lunch specials which include soup or salad & ice cream. Being conveniently located closeby to home, you can bet I'll be back to have a go with the rest of your menu. Until then!

Read moreMediocre experience; nice aesthetic, lacking service, 4/10 food quality, $20+/person — won’t be going back.
Nestled in a conveniently located small strip-center, Nayada Thai started off with a modern/ clean aesthetic upon entrance to the restaurant. We were greeted and seated promptly by friendly staff. Ordered 2 appetizers: Thai Spring Rolls and Crisp Thai Calamari. Water and drinks were promptly served while waiting. About 10 minutes later the appetizers came out hot, as expected, but the deep-fry oil was clearly overly used and needed changing due to the darkness of the wraps and breading having a dark brown color and overly crispy. The spring rolls are the conventional foodservice supply spring rolls at many restaurants and the calamari are the breaded tube variety. The calamari was served in a parchment-lined metal basket and without the chilis and onion that frequently accompany them from other Asian-style restaurants. In short, the spring rolls were sub-par and calamari was decent, but nothing memorable.
We finished our appetizers and waited for the waiter to return, but they were busy bussing tables and putting dishes away. Also, our waters and my soda were consumed and they didn’t perceive it to offer refills until another 10 minutes passed, at which time we also ordered our entree.
Since we missed the timing for the Lunch menu, my wife and I split a dinner entree-sized order of Pad See Ew w/ chicken. We explained to the waiter that we were splitting the portion and requested if they would split it in two for us and include the egg, which comes in the dish, for my portion, while leaving it out of my wife’s portion since she is allergic to egg. The waiter checked with the chef who refused the request, so we ordered without egg entirely. Not a big deal, but would have been nice if they could have accommodated the request. Upon receiving the entree approximately 10 minutes after ordering, the presentation was good but the flavors were muted and the Chinese Broccoli in the dish were undercooked and were practically uncooked rather than al-dente. I tried to get the waiter’s attention to request a spice tray, but they didn’t return until we were done eating to present the check. Keep in mind that they only had 3-4 patrons to serve with the majority of the restaurant empty during our visit. I can only assume the waits for service during a rush would magnify the...
