Grace Boutique of Old Town — Attraction in Lansing

I would not recommend that anyone purchase from Grace’s without knowing their return policy. My first visit last week went well. I was looking for a graduation dress and I was speaking with the worker there about how unsure I was that the dress would match my red graduation gown. I ended up purchasing it with the intention to return it if I found a dress somewhere else. Upon check out I noticed a small sign about returns (that I guess I misinterpreted). I thought I had 7 days to return the dress or I could only get store credit. Actually, everything is pretty much FINAL SALE because any return will only be given store credit. I found this out when I visited the store today trying to return my dress. The owner very rudely told me I could only return it for store credit. I told her that I was not aware of that. She said rudely, “we have a sign”. I don’t think any of this is fair to the customer. The return policy sign should be larger and not stuffed between a bunch of smaller items like jewelry and hand lotion. When the customer is being checked out, the worker should give a verbal statement about the return policy ESPECIALLY when they know the customer isn’t certain they like the dress. My biggest issue with this situation is that the owner failed to sympathize with the customer. There was no apology and she had no interest in helping me. I was so impressed with the customer service. I feel like that term falls short of expressing the attention and care given to my mom and I. We have been shopping endlessly for a dress she felt good in for my brother’s wedding and today we found the most beautiful, one of a kind dress. The sparkle in my mom’s eyes when she finally found “the one” was something I’ll never forget. The owner was so knowledgeable and kind. I needed a dress for two different formal events and had exhausted all of my online and big box options, so my hubby found this amazing local boutique! We walked in and immediately loved the vibe! Ash spent over an hour helping me try on at least 25 options and I ended up finding the perfect dress! To be completely honest, I was a little nervous because sometimes boutiques that have such superior service and quality apparel are also outside my budget, but Grace Boutique had better prices than everything I found online!
