One of my favourite sporting venues! I have many fond memories from visiting this stadium to watch the Lansing Lugnuts with my family and friends.

The folks who run the show always keep things entertaining-- theme nights (Redneck Night, Pure Michigan Night, etc.), Fourth of July fireworks show, and games and treats for kids. There are lots of good seating options, depending on what you like/need-- in the sun or shade, picnic-style above the outfield, up high or close to the action, handicap accessible seating, etc.

This stadium has a variety of eateries to pick from, which of course includes the usual ballpark fare (hotdogs, pretzels, ice cream, philly steak and cheese, beer, pop), but also Mediterranean, chicken and waffles, and South-of-the-Border options. That there are vegetarian options is a pleasant surprise. You can expect prices on a par with most other sports venues, but cheaper than Major League stadiums.

If you want to eat before or after the game, there are many nearby options, including the Nuthouse (very popular and a block away), Los Tres Amigos, Firehouse Subs, Thai Village (delicious!), and Midtown Brewing Company.

Restrooms are well-stocked and quite clean compared to other sports venues I have been to. There is also rarely a long wait.

Parking is also pretty easy and reasonably priced. If you get there early enough, you can park behind the Stadium District apartment building on the south side of Michigan Ave-- hardly a block away from the stadium. Lots of other event parking lots open up within a half-mile of the stadium that...

There's nothing like a first-time attendance at a great ball game with family and friends! I don't understand the game of baseball really well. But it sure did unexpectedly lift my spirit from a sad place! And this game stadium was not too packed either, which I personally liked! They were busy but not too crowded. I noticed that the "E" in the Pepsi-Cola sign, the bottom of it had been knocked out by a foul ball at some point! LOL! The kids behind us, we're quite loud, but when it came time for the person up to bat to swing, the place was relatively "quiet"! (And then it got loud!) What a great experience! The food was actually really good. They have pizza at the east end and tacos at the west end! I especially loved the pretzel with cheese, very filling too! And the bathrooms were surprisingly clean, much cleaner than I would have expected them to be. Also, you can't carry a purse or a backpack or anything big, nor metallic into the stadium. (Yes, car keys are okay.) I got frisked because I forgot that my cane for walking was metal! And it set off the alarm! LOL! But my small pencil-case-like-pouch with my insultin pen and my medications in it was easily accepted. But be sure to bring your credit card because they don't accept cash anymore. (At least the vendors that I approached) And boy are things expensive! It was $6 or $7 for a 20 oz...

Interesting first time visiting Cooley Law School Stadium.

Exterior electrical boxes that did not have there weather proof enclosures. Children could have stuck anything metal into them. Needs immediate remedy.

Guy cables from power poles that have exposed and upturned ends, with uncoated and sharp cable ends, jutting upward about neck high to a child or Femoral Artery level for an adult. Needs immediate remedy.

And....my personal favorite...the Bouncey House for the Children...

Many of the "safety tie downs" for keeping this very potentially dangerous apparatus are so loose that they can be untied with a single finger with very little effort at all. The possibility of a strong wind coming up and then having the Bouncy House move with Children in it is concerning.

You guessed it, Needs Immediate Addressing.

Considering that this site is named and probably sponsored through a local Law firm, with dual campus' and a high visibility in a greater area through local advertising, one would make the assumption that litigation or potential litigation management would be a pillar of current business practices.

Just thought that maybe anyone with Children might like to be aware of a few items that may possibly end up with an unexpected outcome for an otherwise attempted pleasant excursion for a family.

From the get-go, this place is kept so clean! Even outside! From tickets (both baseball and soccer) to bathrooms, there's zero trash along the ground, and trash cans never overflow! The staff is always SO friendly, and I appreciate the inclusivity and diversity among them! As far as baseball, I do miss the fun sound effects from when I was a kid, but the on-field entertainment between innings is, well, entertaining! If you get there early enough you might be able to sign up to be a part of it! They do themed nights which are usually a bust but I appreciate the effort! Thirsty Thursdays are great if you can handle the college crowd, and the fireworks on Fridays and Saturdays are so nice! Currently in the inaugural season for Ignite, the soccer team, and the atmosphere is somehow so different. Soccer fans are another breed and it is so refreshing so experience. The best seat in the house isn't a seat - stand along the rails in the outfield and you can hear players talk on the field. Pretty cool. Also in the outfield is Good Hops, a craft beer bar and bistro! Great beer selection, great food, and the best bartenders! They've been there for years and never disappoint.
