Disappointing Changes at Tin Can Bar in Downtown Lansing
As a longstanding patron of Tin Can Bar in downtown Lansing, it's with a heavy heart that I express my disappointment with recent developments at the establishment. Over the years, Tin Can on Michigan Ave has been a beacon of inclusivity, embracing diverse music genres and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all.
However, the recent decision by management to filter out RB and Hip Hop artists under the guise of creating a "safer" environment is deeply troubling. It sends a message of internal bias and discrimination, which is disheartening for a customer of minority background like myself.
The closure of the main club on Michigan Ave only adds to the sense of alienation felt by loyal patrons who once thrived in its vibrant atmosphere. It's saddening to witness Tin Can Bar, a place that once encouraged artists to shape their own vibe, now seemingly isolating a significant portion of its clientele.
While I commend the dedicated team and bouncers who have always made patrons feel safe and welcomed, it's essential for management to reassess these unnecessary changes. Embracing diversity and inclusivity should be at the core of Tin Can's ethos, not a casualty of misguided policies.
Furthermore, I urge management to consider reintroducing food options to the strip, enhancing the overall experience for patrons and revitalizing the sense of community that Tin Can Bar once embodied.
In conclusion, I implore Tin Can Bar's management to listen to the concerns of their loyal customers and strive to do better. Let's work together to ensure that Tin Can remains a place where everyone feels valued...
Read moreBlack security woman stole my family heirloom in the form of an old wooden pipe that’s carved like a old Indian wooden pot. And I specifically asked her if it was ok to leave it by the entrance so I could locate my party; she replied yes.
She then allowed me to set it in the chair by the entrance when she could have simply said leave it outside. I was searching for my party because there was a fight brewing and I needed to get them home safely.
It is my belief that she stole it because my white girlfriend found me as I was attempting to exit the Tin Can and recover my items. With all that’s going on in the world now trusted places of business now employ thieves posing as security in there establishments.
I would have rather been thrown out for life then loose that wooden pipe that was handed down by my dying mother in-law. Happy New Years to me🤬🤯despicable!!!🤮 no one is safe. This really is the end...
Read moreI’ve been to the can multiple times. Last night was literally the worst experience I’ve ever had there, and I’ve seen several fights break out there. Nothing like being investigated about my ID that was apparently “fake”. I was told the address I repeated over 15 times was wrong. I was told my ID looked fake. I knew every thing on my ID. I was harassed and so was my friend. We are both about the age of 21 and both had valid ID. It’s crazy tho, every bar we went to after has an ID scanner….. guess what? We got in and drank. I’m 29. You will never have good word of mouth from me. Your staff poorly reflects your management. I should have...
