The snacks were pretty good--I'll say that. But hospitality? Absolutely not. I'm usually not the person to write bad reviews or complain too much about anything. But when you're judged by your appearance so much so that it causes you to treat your customers differently, there is a huge problem. My fiance walked in with our masks on (he has a police flag mask to support law enforcement) and I had an American flag mask on. Allegedly thinking we were conservatives or republicans must have been their motivation for treating us so poorly. I wear glasses normally (and a very high prescription at that--I can't see anything without them) and my fiance and I had been out for a long walk and needed a little something something to tie us over until we got back home. We wanted to try this shop because it looked interesting and had never been in there before. I figured there would be something in here that I could snack on. Anyways we walk in with our masks on and I try to keep mine up the best I can but often it falls below my nose just because of the fit. Furthermore, sometimes I have to pull it down just a bit to unfog my glasses. After a walk out in the cold and then immediately going into a warm place, of course my glasses start to fog up immediately. I do my best to wipe them clean but they quickly fog back up again. The only easy remedy is to leave my mask off the nose. I cannot tell you how many times people have told me to pull my mask over my nose and then have to explain to them that I wear glasses and can't see with the fog. At this point it is so infuriating that I have a hard time controlling my tongue. They lady sees my mask off my nose and tells me to keep it over my nose. I proceed to explain to her that I wear glasses and that I can't see without them and I certainly can't see with fog on them. But I comply and pull it up. I look around a bit more and my mask naturally falls down a bit because of the fit and talking, and again she tells me that I need to pull my mask up with an attitude because she needs to protect her health. (notice I'm not trying to be difficult with her. I get she runs a business and will get fined if people don't wear masks in her store. But she has to see it from other people's perspective who have to deal with people like her egging others on to keep their mask up. It gets old, really fast.) There was an air of annoyance about them that made us feel unwelcomed and that they wanted us to leave ASAP. I just don't understand how the way people dress can affect the way workers treat their customers. It's disgusting. I'm not going back here. The way that people dress or their opinions should not affect how a...
Read moreNever been here before, let the woman know and that I wanted to support a local business. The woman waiting on me? Let's just say customer service is not her strong quality! I never got her name but she will forever be remembered as 1-nut Karen. So I get a 1 nut sample of the Spanish peanuts I end up ordering 1lb of because they were good. I see cinnamon almonds, as a diabetic I want to sample how sweet they are, was more interested in the cinnamon. When I asked for 1 piece sample I heard "We typically only give out 1 sample". After just buying 1 lb of peanuts it's not like Im there looking to eat a free lunch! So declined those, moved on to chocolate covered raisins for my daughter. She let me know they don't make them in house but was vague when I asked her where do they come from? So I decide on 1lb of dark chocolate, my daughter wants milk chocolate. I tell her just a half lb of each. She was noticeably annoyed. Threw the scoop down and sighed. I decided to kill her with kindness and gave her the change of $20 of my $17.60 order. The coworker said "Does she know you aren't worth a tip"? I will never be back. Did nothing to make me a return customer. (As a diabetic I eat nuts often). Response to the owner if you think my presence was a joke and laughed with her then I'm glad I will never be returning...
Read moreThe store is awesome with a lot of assorted nuts with different flavors. Classic way of weighing nuts when you're buying, which is cute. Prices are also fair. You'll be in awe when you go in, very classic.
1-star is for the rude, grumpy salesperson who is so condescending. Definitely needs some refresher on customer service especially for purchasing customers. Be careful not to take photos and videos, the signs are so inconspicuous (they are small and one sign is all the way at the back). There's a proper way to remind your customers who don't see the signs, your tone is not appreciated, very rude! Got out of this store immediately after purchasing some instead of purchasing more nuts as part of my Christmas gift packages.
Otherwise, the store is amazing and the other store team members were accommodating.
Edit: "Owner's" response is construed. My friend was pointing out cute Mr. Peanut and not the sign which is inconspicuous. Both of us did not see the sign at all. Put the sign on the front door, then!
Appears the response was so defensive. Bottom line, customer service is bad and the tone was condescending. Appreciate the explanation, but very defensive to my taste. I would be fine and even apologized for taking a video if I were reminded nicely! Geez, it's the...
