I agree with most of the reviews here. Unprofessional service by some, but, not all employees. In order to get my pizza even warm, I have to ask each time that they deliver it to me warm. I am nice when I ask, and some of the employees understand, others are appathetic. Not the cheapest pizza. If men can blast off to the moon and return 43 years ago, I think Cottage Inn can find a way in 2012 to get warm pizza 1.9 miles to my home. Talked to the manager, he was apathetic at best. I have ordered a lot of pizza from them. I wonder if the owners know how customers feel? The reviews below are just the tip of the iceberg in my opinion. If your franchise is doing well, then I know it can be better, probably lots better if you had a staff with customer service values . Not all employees are rude, unfortunately I don't know the names of good employees or I would give them credit here. I just got my current order. Before I paid, I checked it to see if it was cold. It was and evidently the driver is taking corners too fast as at least a third of the pizza was piled on top of other pizza.... I refused to take delivery or pay. Update: I went to order a pizza from Cottage Inn and they refused to take my order unless I used my credit card. I guess they think they can still charge me even if I refuse a cold, damaged pizza. So, I contacted the home office and a District Manager named Mike called me and we talked about the situation. He -agreed- that I shouldn't pay for pizza that is -stone cold- or one that is -all mashed up-. He said he was visiting the Wash Square store that day and would talk with the store manager and get back to me as soon as possible. That was 3 weeks ago and I have not heard from Mike and I don't expect to hear from him. I can only figure at this point that we have a vastly different view of customer service and business ethics. Who knows what the Wash Square Manager told the District Manager about me. I know that other than being a bit upset, I did nothing wrong. I didn't yell. I didn't threaten, etc, etc. I did ask that the store manager call me and of course he didn't. Perhaps when I get a chance, I will look up the articles of incorporation for Cottage Inn, find out who the CEO, President, and Officers are and send them certified letters about this situation and see if they agree with the district manager and store manager's way of handling. Perhaps they will feel the same, but, I won't know...

Read moreNow two times i made an order over the phone and first time was told the lobby is closed at midnight with lobby lights off, door locked and chairs up with no indication the business is open besides the open sign being left on…no where on any of the doors or hours of service does it state that the lobby closes before 3 am…yet both times the lobby was locked and shut down let’s not mention the times I’ve drove by and assumed it was closed and didn’t place an order. Ericka is the manager who told me it closes at midnight but couldn’t explain why it doesn’t state that on any of the hours of operation…I love cottage inn and it’s a shame to think our downtown location is losing so much in sales due to this especially because tonight downtown was extremely busy and not one person was aware that they are and in fact open. So much money lost due to poor staff and employees that doesn’t want to work. Cottage inn please address this issue because the night manager ericka is running your business to the ground. I have always seen the lobby open until the hours posted online and the door until recently and as a business owner myself I would be walking out the manager Ericka Not to mention she is rude with no people skills and didn’t even want to talk about the explanation Worst experience I’ve ever had with cottage inn ( My favorite pizza place in Lansing!) and besides the last two times I’ve never had any complaints The young man working was polite and doing what his boss told him to...
