Absolutely charming venue and bookstore. I've been to a few shows here when portions of the Lansing Symohony Orchestra performed, and it's such a wonderful opportunity to get close to the music and really take it in. It's a smaller, more intimate venue, but has never felt overly crowded. Nice wood floors, good old-book smell 😁 The bookstore during the day is also a lovely stop with lots of delightful finds. I don't know the building's history, but it has the best sort of rooted feel. The owner is also a delight, great to chat books with, and also a charming and humble MC. I love how welcoming the place is, from the space itself to the people running it. At the beginning of one show, the co-owner literally said, "YOU are welcome," to ensure that no matter who you are, you are welcome in the space. Read moreSeriously one of those hidden gems we hear about from time to time. Our first visit was last night to see "Dixon's Violin." With only 80(?) seats, I don't believe there would have been a bad seat in the house. The two bathrooms were clean and well kept. The sound system was nice except for a very few times the bass sounded like it was connected to a wobbly metal pole (it wasn't 😉) This was a great experience and I will definitely watch their website to see what acts are coming up.
