The Rusty Mug Bar & Grill REO Town — Restaurant in Lansing

I was VERY disappointed today when at lunch I got a to go order. 2 burgers with sides. One burger was perfect. Mine which should have been the mushroom burger with NO onions was incorrect. I got a mushroom burger with onions only (onions but no mushrooms) which is the exact opposite of what I wanted. I called to let you know and asked for a credit since I did not have time to come back for a “remade” burger. The gentlemen that I spoke to stated that he could not credit me anything because I was going to eat the incorrect burger. I know if I brought the burger back you are to throw it away, so his logic did not make since to me, it matters more that I am eating the incorrect burger rather than throwing it in the trash plus me taking to make 2 trips to the restaurant!! I have eaten at your location several time, always enjoyed it, but I will tell you this experience makes me consider other restaurants first in the future!!! I don’t think I was asking for anything outrageous! He could have given me an in house credit to use on my next visit even!! ...

All but impressed. It starts with the curb appearance of their Reo Town location, which is somewhat hard to spot due to hidden signage and tinted windows (in fact it appears to be closed). The inside looks much better, but feels noisy. The chairs are uncomfortable, metal outdoor chairs. The food is mediocre. The menu makes it sound so much better. I had the BBQ Chicken Skewers “Here a chick” which were nothing more than a couple, bitter charred, plain, dry chicken pieces with Ketchup (BBQ sauce?) lightly drizzled over them, no seasoning or marinated prior to grilling (or better charring). The side order of “Sweet potato puffs” turned out to be freezer bag quality, pre-made processed food-like. The second side of brussel sprouts were better, but again just covered with a generic Thai chili sauce. My biggest disappointment however was the beer. Advertised on the menu as 22 oz and the bill even states 23 oz for what is only a regular pint (= 16 oz). At more than $7 for draft beer I feel ripped off. Came in for a bachelorette party this past Saturday and the waitress was extremely weird about having a group of 6 and refused to serve us because my ID looked fake. I’m 24yrs old and she was extremely rude saying she was “just doing her job” she said she could call the police on us and The whole party replied with “yes, absolutely call the police.” The police never came and a manger never approached our table. She bent my ID and said she just took a 3hr bartending class (obviously not a very good one). A manger should have talked to us if there was a problem but instead she gave horrible service and kicked us out suggesting I go to Secretary of State for a real ID.
