If I could give 3 1/2 stars, that's what I would mark this city garden. It is maintained by Master Gardener volunteers who do what they can. It has a somewhat overgrown look in many places. Some areas are delightful.

If I could give 3 1/2 stars, that's what I would mark this city garden. It is maintained by Master Gardener volunteers who do what they can. It has a somewhat overgrown look in many places. Some areas are delightful.

This place used to be one of my favorite to visit. The Scott Sunken Garden (Cooley) was a beautiful refuge on the edge of REO Town. Always well kept, it housed local garden treasures, and made for a fun walk. They are now building a substation for Board of Water and Light. Supposedly they will be adding art to the exterior. I sure hope some preserved some of the irises...

Unfortunately the city of Lansing has closed this beautiful vista for something more practical. Thus the 1 star. It was 4.8 stars before it got demolished. It's a shocking eyesore compared to its former glory. What a shame, what a disappointment. Hopefully a new park gets erected in memory of...
