Sahara Food Market — Attraction in Lauderdale Lakes

I walked in to this amazing market and had no clue what to order. As a foodie, I wanted to try a bit of everything… so I did. 🤣 Forgive me if I use the wrong names, but let’s start with the meat. Chicken and beef kabobs were amazing and I loved that each had unique seasonings. The lamb was out of this world. Lamb is my favorite meat and theirs did not disappoint. The Hummus and tabbouleh were on point. So good. And the rice was a tasteful base to put all that on top of. Ok, now I really don’t know the names, but there were fried things (see photo). So delicious. The falafel was probably the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot. Ohhhhhh, and those desserts. The baklava is perfection. Absolutely amazing! My kids were dying to try honey comb and while it is sweet, it’s so good. The chocolate bar too. Last, the pita. Wow!!! My son said they were soft as pillows, and I’d have to agree. Sahara Since 1970 has seen many changes in my view. You can purchase beef, chicken & spinach sfeehas (pies). As welll as kibbeh- ground beef & nuts encased in a pastry?? shell. There is a counter on the opposite side where you will get lamb 🐑, grilled chicken 🐔, fish 🐟 & kafta kabob along with plain rice, rice w/ lentils & onions & yellow rice. Not forgetting the other side dishes- fava beans (salad) tabouli (salad), okra, and eggplant & cauliflower. You will get luncheon meats, sardines &.tunafish as well as rose 🌹 water. There is also almonds, Turkish delight & Ulker tea biscuits. There is also a section where you will get figs & dried apricots. Whatever your pleasure, you'll get it...

If i could give 10 stars i would. Chef is amazing and never misses a beat. Customer service is amazing as well. Always smiling and answering any questions I ask. They also speak both languages and never make you feel inferior for not speaking their native language. They’re so warm and kind. Their food is seasoned with love first. You can smell it just walking in. There’s plenty i could say, but I want to say GREAT PLACE TO EAT. Amazing food better prices.
