Oh my goodness, my husband and I had the best time at this market today. We have only ever been in a tiny Asian market in Scranton up until now. By comparison, this was like a supercenter! We made the trip for two items and ended up buying three or four bags of various groceries.

We came and ordered to find fresh kimchi and we were not disappointed. This was one of the few items that we could not read in English, and we wished we could have because once we tasted it we realized we have a seafood variety, which is not our first preference. Regardless, it is quite delicious and we will definitely eat it all up. Perhaps we will end up referring it in the end!

The other item we hoped to find was a stone bowl like one used for dolsot bibimbap. We were not as lucky on this score.

What I really enjoyed about this store was that it had quite a lot of grocery foods to explore in both the freezer and in the aisles, plus many cooking accessories, pots, pans, etc

I also really loved that they had an expansive selection of snacks and sweets. I had no idea that there were so many sweet options. I had previously thought that Asian desserts were not overly sweet. However, most items had English ingredients and nutrition information and I quickly realized that sugar is a very popular ingredient in the desserts!

Things I would have liked to see were more refrigerated items and more produce. Also, there was an amazingly delicious smell coming from the back and I got the feeling they were cooking back there. I would have loved to be able to purchase some cooked Korean food. We have never explored cooking it ourselves before, only recently having tasted how delightful the cuisine is in...

Oriental Mart is a treasure trove for anyone passionate about exploring Asian cuisine. This vibrant market offers a wide variety of authentic oriental imports, catering to a diverse range of tastes and culinary needs. From pantry staples like soy sauce, rice vinegar, and miso paste to unique delicacies such as glass noodles, orange tofu, and specialty teas, the selection is both extensive and exciting. Additionally, their fresh produce section features hard-to-find ingredients like bok choy, lemongrass, and enoki mushrooms, making it a one-stop shop for Asian-inspired cooking.

The store’s bright and welcoming atmosphere adds to the shopping experience, creating a light and enjoyable environment as you browse through the aisles. Its privileged location in central Broward makes it convenient for residents across the area, and the prices are impressively cost-effective, offering excellent value for those looking to experiment with new recipes or stock up on essentials.

Despite its many strengths, the store’s growing popularity highlights one noticeable drawback: the need for additional cashiers. The checkout lines can become lengthy during peak hours, which slightly detracts from the otherwise pleasant experience. However, this is a small inconvenience in light of the variety and quality offered.

On a personal note, we visited Oriental Mart to gather ingredients for glass noodles with orange tofu, a dish we learned to cook by watching a YouTube tutorial. It was a rewarding culinary adventure, and I highly recommend this store for anyone seeking to expand their culinary repertoire or reconnect with traditional flavors. Oriental Mart is a gem for food enthusiasts and...

One of the best places for Korean and Asian fare at great value prices. Napa cabbage under a buck a pound... House made miso and the fienishly addictive kimchi...in giant jars...must be 10 lbs...under 20 bucks. Update: now over $20 bucks. Dried shiitakes...fresh mushrooms...a variety of Asian greens like baby bok choy....and this is a small portion of one isle. I stock up n bok choi, fresh shroomery, greens, daikon radishes, Korean hot pots...giant bags of kelp, wakame, miso...they have massive bags of rice...frozen fish by the isles... Cases of oriental noodles...korean beef... Loved the jasmine tea cans...you could spend a lot of money here...like on fresh ginseng roots. They used to have ready made food in little plastic trays for under $5... Korean pancakes....veg n glass noodle stir fry....rice rolls similar to sushi...fresh n quick meals. Update: price went up. Not a bargain for the small portions now. Yet the Jabchae is addictive. Mostly Asian clientele ...Did I mention the great prices on fresh produce. There are isles I don't know any of the wares...but i sure get what I need. Update#2: I still love this place. I buy kimchi, strange Asian clothing n shoes, cheap but fresh veggies, seaweed, glass noodles (love them) they are made from sweet potato starch n gluten free. Love their prepared food jabchae (sp?) and the rice rolls w fillings but the Prices went up again on those. Enjoy rooting around the kitchen supplies. Lots to...
