My daughter has taken summer sewing classes at Sew Simple Sewing for 3 years. Catherine is an amazing teacher and role model. My daughter can be slow to warm up to new people but has felt comfortable from the beginning at Sew Simple Sewing. Catherine does a great job encouraging and guiding each student. She allows each student to find their own style by personalizing projects with different materials and add-ons. You would think that a class making the same pattern would turn out almost identical finished projects but I am always amazed at the variety. Through the years, I have noticed that Catherine seamlessly (little pun, haha) levels up or down the lessons based on the student's experience and comfort. Catherine is always amazing. I contacted her because my wedding dress needed to be taken out a bit (what happens when you have a baby haha!) I was worried no one would want to take the job, but Catherine immediately responded and I saw within the next few days. She was so sweet and kind, and did all of the measurements she needed to. I went in one more time a week or two later, and then I swear she had the whole dress done so fast! She not only took it out, but added a second bustle, drop sleeves and took care of the top so that the breast part wouldn’t flare out. It looked gorgeous, even better than I could’ve imagined! Catherine altered my wedding dress, and I couldn't have asked for a more skilled and attentive seamstress. She saw me just one time, talked about what I needed, helped me think through options, and was incredibly thorough in following through on what she promised. My dress was covered in ornate beadwork which was a huge challenge, but Catherine did an amazing job.
