Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Lawrence

Sonic is Sonic. What more can you say? The food is good (but a bit pricey). The carhops are friendly. The service is (usually) pretty quick. There are definitely no complaints about Sonic in general. Regarding this Sonic location, I have not had a problem with the folks here in years. The last time I did, it was because the carhop could not count correct change: she ended up giving me back enough change for a $20 bill when I had paid with a $10 bill. Being a fellow businessman and as it was the right thing to do, I did not capitalize on this. Instead, I corrected her error and returned the excess change. Beyond this small issue, everything has always been good. One question, though: when did they quit using the bags for their burgers and instead start using flat-sheet wraps like other places? I actually preferred the bags as it was easier to keep the mess off my work clothes while eating and driving...

Several times I’ve seen myself and others get food poisoning. Most of the time if you don’t tip a part of your order will be missing. Even if you were going to tip with change. The service is extremely hit and miss, but most of the time the workers are genuine. I know people who worked at this exact establishment who quit because of how unsanitary and toxic the environment was. During COVID-19 it was noted several times, By different workers that proper sanitation and hygiene rules werent being followed. Ie. Making food without gloves, not switching often and cross contaminating, improper washing and cleaning of equipment and flooring. And probably much worse as years continue. The car hop by the name Claire at this store is one of the rudest people I've ever met. She very rudely flirted with me the whole interaction. I've been happily married of 3 years an made sure that she saw my wedding ring the whole interaction to no effect. My order was also brought out incorrectly and when I asked to have it remade, then I was told by the carhop Claire " that sound nasty ". If that wasn't bad enough when she brought out my correct items I was told yet again " this sound nasty " and she promptly asked for me to give her a item that I have hanging in my Rearview mirror. I swiftly said no and she said a few more words, at that point I was pretty fed up I just wasn't listening. I do not plan on coming to this...
