Let me start by saying I have shopped at this Value Pawn for at least 20 years! Never really used their "pawning" service but have bought several game systems, accessories, games, car stereo equipment, tvs, vcrs/dvd players, jewelry and even dvd movies. Pearl ( who is no longer there) used to help me with hard to find gaming accessories for my son. They were even extremely helpful when some items of mine were stolen and turned up there. However today I had an unexpected cost come up that couldn't wait till Tuesday(payday) so I decided to get a "loan" on my brand new still in the box Dell Inspiron notebook w/flip screen & touchscreen. Alexus(young man that waited on us) was superficially pleasant at first, then he started with the interrogation. I understand they need to ask certain questions but he took it too far. Sometimes its not what you say BUT HOW you say it. He asked me why I was pawning it, I said unexpected cost..he ask for what...He asked who I had spoke with that morning...told him I didn't get a name but it was one of the guys....asked me again where I got it and why I was pawning it....gave him same answer. I asked if he would like to see the receipt where I paid for it...he said no not nessecary. He asked me again who I spoke with that morning....then proceeded to reiterate that I just purchased a new notebook, then convienently (his words exactly) a bill popped up and now Im wanting to pawn it. SERIOUSLY??!! I wasn't asking but for $100.....I just paid $400 for it! I didnt want the hassle of returning it and risk them being sold out when I returned Tuesday so I though a "loan" would be the next best thing since I have a back up that I can use till then. He then offers me $55...no I don't think so and gave him a piece of my mind. (respectfully) Also advised I was going to write the BBB. Then he wanted to ask the manager if he could do more...I told him never mind and told the manager that it wasn't about the money but how he made me feel. Like I was lying or doing something wrong even when I could produce the receipt with my name on it from my card! I retrieved my laptap and took my business elsewhere. Never again after doing business with Value Pawn for 20 years will I ever step foot in...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this place..never again would I pawn anything here! I never get anything near the value of my items..yes I know they have to make money..but if i take same exact item a few miles down the road to another shop I get almost 4 times then what they offered me...I have gone into shop recently a few times one of the ladys refused to sell me a pair of earrings she said in times like this(covid19) i needed to save my money. I asked about layaway on the same earrings she also refused to allow me to do it... I wanted the earrings so bad I went back a week later hoping I would get another lady..I got her and when I asked about the earrings with a big smile on her face she said..we melted them down!!!!! I was disappointed and in shock! I told her boss what had happend he says just ask for another person when u cone back! Today..went in to look at jewerly and hope to find something I liked..well I go straight to the jewerly counter I am the only one at it..few minutes go by and a older couple walks in..instead of helping me (she seen me waiting) she quickly approached them! I have to wait another 10plus minutes till someone else is available to get help. *now on the postive i have noticed some prices on the silver jewerly was cheaper than...
Read moreToday is 08/02/2019 I bought a 60’ flat screen Sony tv for $401 in 03/2019 the day after I bought it i noticed it had discoloring. I called and spoke with Gary who told me to bring it back I explained to him that I live in Daytona Beach which is a hour away and couldn’t just bring it back without being sure they would refund me or exchange it. So I dealt with it. Here it is now 08/2019 and the same tv now has black lines on the screen. So once again I called I spoke to Gary who said he couldn’t do anything because I didn’t have warranty on the tv. So I called corporate and wrote a review. I also spoke to the district manager who told me to bring the tv in along with the receipt and he would be happy to give me store credit or exchange it. Moral of the story I am a loyal customer there and if they had just done this in the first place since I had the receipt it wouldn’t had gone this far. So thanks to “Doug & Michelle” I now have a new tv that’s a smart tv and the same size and $140 in store credit left! That is the only reason why I gave them 4stars.
Side note- Tasha one of the girls who works there is extremely rude ! Thanks Gary, Michelle...
