Ramshackle Cafe — Restaurant in Leesburg

This is a down-home restaurant with a very laid-back, relaxed vibe. It's perfect for families, seniors, singles, anyone, really. If you come once, you'll want to come back! The staff is friendly.

Then there's the food!! Dee-lish-us!!!! We got buffalo wings, extra crispy, celery & carrot sticks, with ranch & bleu cheese dressings on the side. The wings were not battered (which is what we wanted) & were wet (per our request). They were served so heat-hot that we had to let them cool a bit before we could eat them without burning our mouths. Really freshly cooked!

We also got onion rings, extra crispy, with the special sauce that has a touch of horseradish, giving it a little kick. Very delicious onion rings. The full order ended up being A LOT of onion rings!

The sweet potato fries were scrumptious, even after they'd cooled off some. They are thin strips about 4" long. SO GOOD!!! We got a half order, and that was enough for us. Warning: If you're buying the sweet potato fries for 2 or more people who can eat a lot, you'll definitely want to get a full order for about every 2-3 people in your party. These fries make you wanna keep eating just one more because they're that delicious!

There is seating at tables (small ones for 2 all the way to much larger tables for large family parties or friends from work), booths, or taller, round tables with the higher chairs. You can sit away from people, or do like we did & sit at a 2-chair table and get acquainted with the people next to you. Maybe a little bit like sitting at a hibachi table with several other people you've never met. Camaraderie just happens!

So, if you're dining with others or are just eating alone, this is a GREAT place to go! Great appetizers, burgers, salads, sandwiches, & wings. And I didn't even check out the desserts (which I usually do even BEFORE I check the regular menu🤓), but I'm pretty sure they...

I love the cozy atmosphere, decor may be dated but it works with the theme. I enjoy going back in time every once in a while, to the mid to late 80's . The service was very very slow and we came during a slow period, my food came before my appetizer and It's taking forever just to get a drink refill. The server, summer, was very nice, very friendly and accommodating when she did check in on us, but she should pay more attention to her tables, do more table touches was only able to only get one drink refill before we decided to go. it may Not necessarily be her fault, she may have too much work to do.. Food was okay, nothing to brag about, it was not terrible but it had the taste of bowling Alley food. We wanted some extra ranch for the fries cause they barely put any on there and they charged us for it, not kidding. I should've taken a picture of the sour cream they gave me for my fajitas, it looked like they took a small tea spoon to measure it out. I didn't want to ask for more cause I didn't want to get charged for it. Chicken was dry, chili was spicy (yes, they serve chili with fajitas), onions and peppers were burnt, lettuce was turning brown. Maybe it was just a bad night, I really wanted to like this place, I pass by it every single day on the way home. I will probably give it another chance but they really need to stop nickel and diming people who are eating here, they will lose a lot of business. Went back again. But unfortunately, I didn't stick with the wings. This was on a weekend, which I had always been there on weekdays, so perhaps it was the cook. But I had the steak fajitas. Not much in the line of meat at all and it was very tough. Service was still good. There was no crowd, so weekend may just be a LOT lighter traffic, or the holidays may have been the reason.

PREVIOUS EPISODES: Went back for more and I had to down grade my review a little. Made a huge mistake of eating outside. Beautiful weather, so why not? Won't do it again. Traffic was so loud being right on the road, you could hear nothing else. Table was sticky too. Waitress blamed it on their cleaner which supposedly did that. Idk... But it was sticky, and I had seen her wipe it down. I'd change cleaners. So I lowered atmosphere to a 2. Inside still has it going on. Food and service I was still very happy with. More wings! Wife came with me this time and her rating would be 5 for service. 3 or 4 for food on the appetizer platter. And 3, maybe 4, because she smokes (dam it), which is another reason we sat outside.
