
I would have given Adcope 2 stars before they pulled the stunt they have just pulled.
My boyfriend and I signed up in January 2013- there are several machines to choose from however, the times we went I never once saw the hot tub working (they would leave it 1/4 of the way full with cold, nasty water and an out of order sign). Their equipment is dirty, disgusting dirty. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and during my schooling I learned A LOT about sanitation, the state of the machines made my skin crawl and I always had to wipe down before as well as after. They never sweep or mop any of the equipment areas as I would see the same bobby pin and grime in the same spot for weeks at a time.
I became pregnant and we stopped going. Come August 2013 or so we were going to cancel completely, the automatic payment that had ALWAYS been set up to pay the membership each month ceased withdrawing. Under the impression our contract had ended, we didn't look any further into the situation.
A week ago, my boyfriend gets a phone call from Adcope stating we owe them almost $400 for the time since the automatic withdrawal stopped. Though they can provide NO reason for the withdrawal stopping (we are waiting for a copy of the contract to be emailed to us as we have lived in Wisconsin for the last 4 months). I believe the contract was 6 months, that would explain why the AUTO payments stopped but not why the charges continued. This feels like a business scam- wait for an account to go inactive, cancel automatic withdrawal so the customer forgets about said membership, and turn up $400 later demanding full payment.

Read moreWent to visit the gym because we get a discount from my employer. I've gone in there twice...the first time the girl behind the front desk let me tour the gym (by myself). Weird. The second time I brought in my husband so he could check it out also. We walked in, 2 guys and a girl looked at us from behind the counter...NO "Hello, How are you?"...they just looked at us waiting for us to get to the desk. The customer service is horrible. We ended up joining Snap Fitness because the gentleman had exceptional customer service! I've worked in a gym in Alaska so I know how it is on both sides of the desk. We always looked at our customers and said hello. I'm sure here in Lewiston you get what you pay for....so maybe thats why the customer service...

Did a walk through because I heard so many good reviews from people who worked there only to find rotten smelling towels and dust and sticky residue and literal hair and skin flakes around machines. They had ladies on their phones just lounging around. And they were so rude and unwelcoming to the older ladies walking in, they only cared about the young men. I’m not sure how a business can conduct itself this way. I have not stopped telling people how disgusting it is in that place. You’re bound to get some sort of fungal disease just touching something.
