Family First Vision Care- Fayette Mall — Attraction in Lexington

My family and I have been patients at this location for years. We adored the staff and the doctor always pretty punctual. At this year’s visit, we arrived to find mostly new staff who were not nearly as outgoing or friendly. They weren’t rude, but didn’t talk unless asked a direct question and then we felt like an inconvenience. Before, the staff would offer to help us pick out glasses frames or would talk to us about our coverage if the doctor was running a little late. These new ladies never looked at us or offered any assistance. The only person who was helpful was the gentleman who offered to work on my current glasses frames while I was waiting. Our appointments were well over an hour late (1:15-1:30 late). We were there with four young children and expected to be seen near our appointment times. The staff never checked on us or told us that the doctor was running late. When I asked, I was told that we should be see any time. The lady didn’t even look at me when she answered. Since there was only one other person there for an exam, we have no idea what caused the delay. The doctor was kind but obviously very new. My husband wound up having to cancel his exam because of the delays. As long-time customers, we were so shocked by the change in atmosphere and sense of urgency. They were very professional, and begin working on my son within seconds of us arriving. The place was very welcoming and every customer in the office was receiving friendly and timely service. This was the best experience I’ve had in a long time! The dr spoke to my son, and didn’t just speak to me as if he weren’t there. Again very professional and to the point. He even double checked his numbers and confirmed with my son the vision problems he was having before sending us on our way. The lady who did the readings and billing was very informative and beyond willing to help. She answered every question and took great steps to make sure we inderstood the billing & options available for our purchase. This place by far was the best I had been at in years!! I have an older son who visits the eye dr at least once a year, and it’s usualy the same disappointing experice. The drs are very dry, rude and condisending while the assistants are unprofessional, uninformed, aren’t helpful and clearly only show up for a paycheck. This was ran like a well oiled machine, I didn’t receive second rate service because it was a Sat, they were beyond awesome! Thanks again! I couldn’t wait to submit...

The doctor was fast, personable, efficient, patent and understanding. Good sense of humor aswell. Made the exam absolutely easy even though it has been quite some time since my previous exam. They thoroughly explained the condition of my eyes and answered all question in a manner that some one as simple as myself could understand. Lobby staff/Optometric assistants were amazing aswell from the moment I called to confirm my appointment I was treated with warmth and my questions were answered quickly and very polite. Choosing frames and payment was made incredibly easy aswell. The employees not only explained and broke down my vision coverage with my insurance, but also explained the features I could add on to my glasses and broke down the prices. Both doctor and staff sympathized with me over what they felt needed added on my prescription and what I could go with out.
