This place has changed many of its previously family friendly policies. If they admitted to the changes and made them known, it wouldn't be as irritating, but when parents complain, I see the owners repeatedly claiming that they haven't changed anything. All of these parents aren't complaining about changed policies for no reason. The owners simply don't want to post the clarifying information about their changed policies because it would dampen business, so instead they surprise parents and charge them more than expected after they arrive.
Here are the main changes I can think of off the top of my head. It used to be that toddler time pricing applied to everyone who jumped between 10am and noon, regardless of their age. Between 10 and 11, only ages 6 and under (and their parents) were allowed to jump, but between 11 and noon everyone was allowed, and everyone paid the toddler time price. This was even specifically clarified on their site. That is no longer there, but they also don't clarify that they've changed it.
It used to be that a parent supervising a young child and only needing to get on the trampoline if their child needed help DID NOT have to buy a wristband. Only parents who wanted to jump / play needed wristbands. Now parents are forced to pay for a wristband in order to have the "privilege" of helping the staff. This change applies at all times, not just toddler time. (In my case, I cannot jump even if I wanted to because of neuropathy in my foot. I was still chastised by two teenagers for helping my under 2 year old daughter, and told by the rude owner that I had to buy a wristband in order to help if she needed help.) This goes ditto for socks by the way. If you bring your young child who might need help, but don't want to or can't jump yourself, expect to still have to pay for a high priced wrist band and special socks for yourself.
They've also raised prices across the board, but it seems everyone has, so I can't fault them too much on that alone. That combined with their other changes is pretty annoying though. One thing I don't understand about this place. It seems like they are never really busy unless it's toddler time or there's a party going on. It seems pretty clear that their prices are too high to keep business steady and keep enough customers happy and coming through the doors. It seems to me that it would make more sense to bring prices to earth, have reasonable policies for families, and have more customers as a result... than to just keep prices high, keep gouging parents of small kids, and have not-enough business as a result. It's not like this is a business where lots more work is involved when there are more customers through the door.
Their biggest selling point, as they make clear, is that they are the "ONLY" trampoline park in the immediate area. They clearly still aren't making enough money though since they feel like they now have to nickel and dime families with small kids, and they don't have enough customers at their normal prices. Simple solution is to make the price competitive and have more customers as a result. They won't though (why, I don't know).
To the owners: Please don't reply to this and look up / use my name here. I keep that private for a...
Read moreOur family moved to Kansas City, in the late summer. Due to covid restrictions, we haven’t had much opportunity to meet any classmates or parents at our son’s new school. This made me a little reluctant and hesitant, to attempt host a birthday party for a 10 year old boy. Especially, sending invites to these complete strangers… and then everyone’s different feelings and fears with covid. I really didn't know how people would respond.
I found the Above All website, and was able to book our party online. (very easy, I might add) Immediately received a confirmation email, it covered all the details and answered all my questions.
Our party day was set for January 15th. We woke up to a significant amount of snow on the morning of. I honestly didn’t expect anyone to attend.
We arrived about 15 minutes before party time. Our party person was Alli. (Super sweet, and cute) I never lifted a finger after walking through the doors. She handled everything. We had 14 of our 20 guest show up. I was able to chat and meet other parents. Several parents even complimented, how effortless the party experience had been for me. Everything went so smoothly and the kids absolutely had a ball. I received many text and emails that night and the following day… thanking us for the invite and telling me how much the kids, had enjoyed themselves.
We’ve lived in three other states, so we’ve visited numerous jump parks. I’ve actually hosted and we’ve attended birthday party’s, at other jump parks. None can even compete, with our Above All experience. The facility is top notch. Very orderly, very clean, and the staff is so friendly. I highly recommend for birthday party’s or...
Read moreNON-INCLUSIVE and DISCRIMINATORY—I took my kindergarten through second grade class to Above All today for our class field trip. My students are primarily non verbal students with autism. Some of them have sensory difficulties. They were not allowed any grace with keeping their socks on, which was understandable if what was said is actually true about why they have to wear the grippy socks. However, the assistant manager is one of the most disrespectful women I’ve ever encountered in my life. She was so rude to one of my students’ mother, who is non-English speaking. She upset the mother of my student and made her extremely uncomfortable. She told one of my classroom paraprofessionals “I don’t have time for your attitude” when my paraprofessional was trying to help the non-English speaking mother of my student. The worst part of it all, they allowed about 10 high school seniors to mock, laugh at, and taunt my students. I finally had to confront the teenagers and let them know it was completely disrespectful behavior. The assistant manager and/or store manager then followed the group of teenagers out to their vehicles apologizing to them for me confronting them about them mistreating and mocking my students with autism.
I will never give this place my business again and I hope everyone with kids with disabilities will consider an alternative location for a trampoline park. I’m very disappointed in how everything was handled today. Despite my students having an absolute blast, the parents and the staff were left completely irate and upset after this experience. We will be planning our next field trip to a different ...
