General manager," Johnny" of Best Western Premier in Liberty, MO tricks me into giving a ride to one of his employees that was called in to work on Christmas night. We agreed upon an amount of $25. . Tthe request came in through a rifeshare platform , however, due to the low amount offered by the rideshare platform I was going to cancel the ride. as I was getting ready to cancel the ride Johnny pleaded for me to take this ride because he needed one of his employees to fill in for someone. I explained to him that the amount offered was not enough in order to cover operational costs, and that I would be losing money. he then begged for me to take the ride and I offered an amount to which he accepted. it was a more than fair amount given that it was Xmas night and it was rather busy. I thought I was helping . I was informed I would be paid upon arrival, however, the video shows the end result of the ride . the rider exits my vehicle and is looking for Johnny to come out. you cannot see in this in the footage but the employee is standing outside of the front lobby on his phone because he is under the impression that johnny was going to be paying me. the rider is now on the telephone with Johnny and Johnny instructs the rider to go back to my car and to give me the telephone. the rider holds up the telephone through the passengers side window and I see calkers name "Johnny" on the screen. Johnny indicates he's not paying now and that he believes I am taking advantage of people on Christmas . then instructs me to eat a dick and then says he appreciates me and refers to me as boss. He then instructs the employee whom I just gave a free ride to to go inside. that was the end of our interaction.
I called up the Best Western several minutes later and the person who answered the phone picked up and I asked to speak to Johnny and he indicated that there is no Johnny there that he knows about. I ask for him to provide me corporates number and he placed me on hold and then the call drops . I called several times and everything I was hung up on or no one answered the phone. I tried again in the morning and that's when I got a hold of someone not aware of the situation. I ask to speak to someone higher up and she indicated that Johnny the GM would be in later in the afternoon. that's how I learned that Johnny does exist and does work there.
the hypocrisy here is astounding. Johnny knew what he was doing and claims I'm getting over on people because I wanted to be compensated fairly for my service. Johnny fails to realize that I'm not compensated for my drive to the passenger and back to where I wanted to be , which was home. 45 minutes for a round trip here . I took the ride because he pleaded for me to take the ride. I gave him my conditions , he accepted . Johnny claims I'm getting over on people, yet, I could have easily just canceled the ride but I figured , hey this person needs a ride, it's Xmas, and no one has picked this guy up for over 30 minutes . Johnny apparently thinks that because it's Xmas I should drive people out of generosity. note: don't trust anyone whose name ends in "nny". so I do this guy a solid and get him his employee to work after no one would take his ride and this is the type of person Johnny wants to be. so be it. I cannot cleanse you if your dirty practices. you are less than a man and couldn't even come out to tell me face to face . you had to do it over the phone. coward boy with no integrity. 0. none. you belong in the lower echelon of bottom feeders whowi use others to get what you want and will do anything to get what you're after. pathetic manager Johnny from Best Western in liberty....
Read moreBottom line stay right across the street at the Home2 Suites. It's a much better hotel, much cleaner, friendlier, much more quality and value. Overall, very disappointed. This picture sums up my whole experience staying at this hotel. This is supposed to be one of the best levels of hotels that Best Western offers. My room was dirty, it was not cleaned thoroughly. There was hair in the bathroom all over. Bug smears on the wall, picture mounts without the pictures on the wall. Broken mirror in the bathroom. Door lock does not engage properly, many tiles all over the hotel are cracked and broken not repaired. Breakfast was truly atrocious. All I could say is I would never stay at this hotel again and I'm now re thinking if I will stay at more Best western's given how lousy the breakfasts have been. Many Best Westerns are pretty good even if their breakfast really do suck. For the money I'm starting to realize stay at a Hilton alternative, Holiday inn alternative and so forth. Best Westerns are just not cutting it when it comes to the breakfast and in this case the premiere completely a waste of money. PS 2 more things. While the shower base may have been dirty I will say the actual shower was pretty darn good. The second thing I want to say is it's very apparent here they go through the motions of cleaning but they really don't clean. It's just a general lack of caring to get the real job done. Like I said they go through the motions but nothing really gets clean. Take a look at the picture I've included. This is what came out of the hot water dispenser. Clearly this was used for coffee prior because there were grounds floating in the water when I pump the water into the cup. Like I said they probably only rinsed it out no one ever really checked for cleanliness because it was never really cleaned. Went through motions but that's it.. And another example, I told the lady they're grounds in the hot water container. Her attitude when she heard it was while she really didn't give a you know what but needed to do something about it, What does she do?, She either cleans it out or she replaces it with another hot water container, I then go to take water and the water of course is not hot. It's lukewarm at best. Perhaps the woman who didn't really care in the first place could have checked the hot water container actually had hot water in it instead of lukewarm? Once again going through the motions but not really caring about the results. Best Western you can do much better than this. I think this place needs to be revamped from top to bottom with the people who work here the service people who don't really care but just go through the motions. Each one should be evaluated for getting their job done on merit, they can't get the job done let them go and get somebody else who can. One last thing I think, lol, I had to stay an additional night and decided to move across the street to the home2 hotel. We stayed there once before and it was amazing I don't know why we did not book it again when we came...
Read moreSo, we booked our room sept 4th for oct 21-24. We booked a king ste with a double bed sofa, shower tub combo handi accessible, thru hotels.com the expidia group. Were coming from tx and its been our first trip since covid, we chose best western premire for their reputation for cleanliness and amenities.The room we booked was not the room we received! We were put in the ADA room, it did have a king but was very tiny. I cannot see anyone in a wheelchair being able to move in this room. No double sofa, no shower tub combo. Clearly not what we booked. We went to the front desk to let them know about the sitch. Charleen, chked the reservation and agreed, that hotels.com aka expidia booked the wrong room type. Now it is race weekend, there was apparently an entire baseball team and their families staying at the hotel, and there were no other available rooms, NONE, and the actual room we booked did not exsist! Oh we were mad!! After some tense moments, Charleen took charge of the situation, she was very profesional when I was very very upset. She made a way were there was no way. When I say this place was packed i mean not 1 empty parking space. She found us a room that far exceeded, the room we originally booked, it was what we expected and then some, and a a token of hospitality we have only seen in tx, we were comped 2 massages and 1 drink from the bar, what could have ruined our entire vacation, was saved by Charleen quickness to MAKE IT RIGHT! in imposible circumstaces, greatful is not a strong enough word. The pool was cold but the kids loved the slide! Many breakfast opt, best when you come early, our room was very clean, the massage room is a nice touch, Tara the GM was extreamly hospitible tieing up the lose ends on the reservation. We enjoyed our time there very much, we will choose best western premire again in the future, but we will NEVER AGAIN, book with hotels.com when we took our complaints to them, they did not want to take responsibility.
