I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this hotel was frustrating enough that I feel compelled to let others know.
Pros: We had a roof over our head.
Cons: Almost everything else.
Pool was empty. Website did mention this. But when talking with hotel staff, it's actually been not working since November 2024 so they have no intentions of ever fixing it.
We were there for a baseball tournament. We were treated horribly from the very beginning as it was clear they did not like having baseball teams stay there even though they partner with USSSA as a "required" hotel teams have to stay at. We were told that after 10pm is "quiet hours" and not allowed to sit in lobby and talk. Were told twice by front desk they had "complaints" about talking in the lobby. Not true.
The next day the tables were put up in the lobby so they couldn't be used. We were told kids poured syrup all over them. Then, about 4 hours later, we were told the tables were up because they did new grout on the floors. Comical. They thought we were so stupid that we would believe new floor grout could be done in a matter of a few hours.
The breakfast is slices of bread in individual zip lock baggies, waffles, muffins, bananas, yogurt, and not much of anything else. Certainly nothing like any competitors.
Our floor smelled like old chinese food. The shower and sink had VERY little water pressure. Carpets were stained. No safes in rooms. Hair dryer only worked when plugged in and one speed but would overheat. It would get so hot you couldn't hold it. I mentioned this to front desk and they said that's all they have. I mentioned this being a safety hazard and they said they'll look into it.
You only get housekeeping if staying 3 days or more. If you want towels, you have to go to front desk for them.
Overall, this hotel just acts like they don't want your business and don't need it. It was a huge disappointment. They are lazy and worst of all, extremely rude, with exception to the woman at the front desk when we first checked in around 6PM on Friday night. It was all for no reason too. We did nothing besides show up and pay to stay at their hotel. It's called hospitality for a reason and you should show it until given a reason not to. I understand there are rude guests, troublemaker kids, etc. but that was definitely not our group. If there was a group like that at the hotel, don't treat everyone horribly because of it and stop inviting families to stay there.
We, along with 30+ other people won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreIn response to you: The only fabrication was in your response to my review. There was NO DO NOT DISTURB Sign on our door once during our stay. So to claim that is why our room wasn’t cleaned it a bold faced lie. We asked for a single fork one night of our stay, not multiple utensils and we were met with nothing but grief! You never one time saw me or our group eat breakfast because of the poor quality. We had all children and guests avoid your floor because of the constant complaints the first night, and the dogs continued to bark! When you pay a premium for a room, you do expect good customer service! Maybe try a different line of work, because you are certainly in the wrong industry!
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Where to begin! I wish I had read reviews before staying because it sounds like many groups have had similar experiences. If i could give a negative star i would!
Rooms: dirty, with a musty smell. Trash was not removed once in the week we stayed; towels not changed. When i asked for towels i was given a rude excuse. Showers did not have running water varying times throughout our stay. Pool was dirty, and the amount of chlorine in the pool was beyond excessive, making it difficult for our children to swim let alone parents watch them without burning your eyes. lobby was soaked because children weren't allowed pool towels by the staff.
Service: the absolute worst service i have ever experienced. The front desk gal was oversharing personal experiences, making guests uncomfortable (chanting at a storm - appeared to be on drugs). Staff was incredibly rude to children and paying guests. Management who lives within the hotel complained about children but allowed her dogs to bark at all hours of the evening. Staff was very publicly displaying affection in elevators and in front of the building as they vaped, making guests uncomfortable. When asked for utensils for eating, we were told it was "against policy". Most hotels provide basic amenities, we weren't even allowed a single fork to eat in the lobby with our group.
We might as well have checked into hell for our week stay. I hope upper management reads this, because whoever is running this location should be fired, and all staff should be...
Read moreDisgusting! I'm staying for 5 days at the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Liberty/NE Kansas City Area. Today is the third day out of five. No one cleaned today nor the prior two days.
Ashley from the front desk said they give all housekeeping today off because it's Thanksgiving. Understandable for Thanksgiving. This evening when I returned to the room at 1145pm I took all the sheets and top cover off the bed to make the bed, I discovered that the underside of the top cover has old dried blood. The sheets had no stains. I felt like vomiting up my thanksgiving food.
With no housekeeping today I took the top cover down to the lobby where Ashley was working. I showed her the stained top cover and I explained how I discovered it and her response was exactly this, "I can't guarantee that my housekeepers left it like that." I replied, "What?"
Ashley asked how many days I've been in the room. I was stunned because immediately I could see where she was taking this conversation. I said three and no one had come by to clean the room. Again she repeats that she can't guarantee that it was her housekeepers that left the top cover like that because they hadn't been in the room. Wow! I asked her if she was accusing ME of leaving old blood stains hidden upside down on the top cover. She says no but again she repeats that no one else has been in the room and she can't guarantee that her housekeepers left it like that.
Stunned, I immediately took photos of the blood stains before Ashley took the blood stained top cover, giving me another one, never saying anything apologetic for this horrible incident.
Geoffrey A. Ballotti, CEO of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and owner of the Microtel by Wyndham brand. Is this how you run your corporation, your hotels and your resorts?! The rooms aren't cleaned, hidden dried blood stains on beds, and the blame placed by your staff on whichever guest raises a concern? I expect an answer back. A letter detailing this disgusting incident and the horrible customer service will be forwarded to you by mail, Mr. Balloti. Maybe you can provide the right feedback that your hotel and staff failed...
