I couldn't believe it. I've been to several IHOP restaurants over the years, but the service that I received at this one was outrageous. The tables were dirty, the waitress who served me was slacking; and by the looks of it, so were the others. When I'm on the road and I stop for food, the last thing I want is to come into a restaurant that is filthy, and where the employees don't care enough about their job to actually do it...
I can understand that working in the food industry can be tedious and undesirable, but in today's economy, people should be grateful that they have a job, and that they have a source of steady income to care for themselves. It's my opinion that people should at least work hard at the job that they have, to impress the customer, to earn their pay check, and to keep everyone happy.
When you put on your uniform, you are a representative of that company. It's your duty to uphold that companies morals, ethics, and values. You are responsible for making sure that your customers are happy and satisfied with your work. Even if you find your job to be uneventful or dissatisfying, it's your responsibility to do the job you were hired for, and do it correctly.
I expect a clean table, clean dishes, and excellent service. That's what I've always received at any other IHOP that I've ever been in, and so that's what I've come to expect, but this one was absolutely abysmal. I'm typically not a person who complains, so I tried to take an optimistic approach, that was until my waitress decided that she was going to be rude. My food was cooked incorrectly, and my glass was constantly empty. When I asked for these things to be remedied, she would scoff or roll her eyes, as if I was asking for too much. You can bet that she didn't get a tip after that behavior!
I also do not generally pay much attention to other people around me when I am eating, because I typically have a book with me, and try to mind my own business, but this time, I'd forgotten my book in the car, and I was also curious about the state of the rest of the restaurant, so I ease dropped a bit, and looked around to see if the other customers felt the same.
To my surprise, a gentlemen at a nearby table had asked for the manager. When she came out, she appeared agitated. You could see the agitation radiating from her her general demeanor, and if that wasn't enough, it was certainly displayed in her body language and her tone when speaking with the customer.
I wasn't able to hear the entire conversation, but I was able to understand the basic gist, the gentlemen was told to leave the store, when he'd from my prospective, done nothing wrong. I don't know what sort of standard IHOP has set for their business at this location, but it certainly wasn't what I would call acceptable, or a reflection of what I've come to expect from other IHOP establishments. In fact, I would say the service was less than sub par. I will never be visiting this IHOP again, and it is very possible that after this incident, I wont be eating at the IHOP food chain period. I'll be sure to tell anyone who will listen about this unacceptable experience, as I do not want to see it happen to anyone again.

Read moreThis was the THIRD bad experience in 2 months we have had. Most likely will not return. I understand completely they are short staffed BUT when you move at a snail pace you're GOING to be"busy". I've been in the industry for 25 years plus. The first time we had to return hashbrowns because they were BURNT and cold. Pancakes were cold and we never got ANY refills. There were at least 4 servers on the floor plus hostess. Last week we went back to give them another try. When we got there SEVERAL tables were FILTHY... dishes left on them. Those SAME tables were still filthy when we left. The server looked like she had just crawled out of bed. Her clothes were filthy.. she wore her mask under her nose.. not that that bothered me but if you're going to wear one.. wear it properly. The food was COLD. I asked for syrup and it literally took her 12 minutes to bring it. Never did we get refills or even a.. how is your food.. but she was quick to bring the ticket. We decided tonight to give them ONE last chance.. should've just stayed home. It took an hour and half to get our food. It took over 15 minutes just to be asked what we wanted to drink. There was TWO tables in there when we sat down. Same server as last week. When she came to the table to take our order she had tucked her phone in the front of her leggings and her shirt was above her phone and her stomach was showing. Her hair was a ratted mess AGAIN. When we got ready to leave she was standing in the kitchen on her phone. Our sons burger was not done. I ordered a ham and bacon omelet. I got ham bacon and sausage. The hashbrowns were full of grease and cold. The pancakes were barely warm enough to melt butter. Just the whole experience was awful. I do plan to call in the morning and talk to a diffferent manager because our server claimed to be the...
Read moreI really wish this Liberty location would hire more wait staff. Everytime we have come here in the last 3 months, it takes almost 3 hours from the time we walk in the door from the time we walk out. The service is so slow and I am tired of wasting my time. DO SOMETHING!!! I spend more time sitting and waiting than I do actually eating. This is unacceptable for overpriced menu items and with only 1 other customer in the joint. I have even been here at 4am and it took just over 20 minutes to be seated. I was the only other patron aside from the one other person who was already in there eating. This place is slower than molasses and upon observation the only reason I can see as to why is due to not enough people working. This is unprofessional on so many levels. The staff is very kind, and very courteous, but forcing them to work a skeleton crew is stressful on both the employees and the customers.
Came here tonight at 7:00pm. We did not get out of there until after 9:30 and my daughter ended up going to bed way to late.
Fix the problem. Stop dumping heavy traffic on 1-2 employees at peak times.
This is the last time I spend money here.
FYI: Bad service times and efficiency in being attentive to customers is a reflection of upper management, not the people actually doing the job. It's the operations management that needs the microscope on them, not the people busting their butts for less than mediocre pay. How a business flows daily is solely the responsibility of the managers. People can only perform their duties based on how they are trained and the type of management environment they are forced to work in. I sense these workers suffer abuse and are never praised for...
