The UPS Store — Attraction in Limerick Township

THIS PLACE IS SCAMMING PEOPLE BY UPCHARGING THEM ON PACKING MATERIAL.

I recently went in there with a 14" tall vase by 7" diameter on 01/13/2024 for them to pack and ship. They quoted me 32.xx for JUST THE PACKING MATERIAL, stating they needed a 19"x19"x19" box to pack the item, a policy of 4" packing material when UPS guidelines are "Fragile articles need separation from each other, and from the corners, sides, top, and bottom of the box. Each item should be surrounded by at least two inches (5.08 cm) of cushioning and be placed at least two inches (5.08 cm) away from the walls of the box." When I questioned their packaging practices and the need for such a large box, they suggested I leave and pack it myself. When I asked for a copy of the original printed, they had originally sat on the counter. When I asked for a signature, they quickly grabbed it and refused to provide it after I decided that I would be following up with UPS about their shipping practices. This store seems so be under new ownership. Regardless, head's up about a $3.00 "convenience" fee I was charged for EMAILING a 6 page document over for printing. How "incovenient" is it to click on the email and print it. Seems like an ape could handle that with the click of a button. When I asked about it, I was told there's also a "fee" for coming into the store and requesting prints. Can't win. Obviously, business owners like these are doing everything in their power to go out of business. They've lost my business for sure. And since it was so inconvenient to print my document, I decided to go out and buy a $30 ink jet printer and print it myself. Problem solved. Thanks for nothing.

I have checked rates online before going to the UPS store clicking on the website for the Royersford office online gave me an estimate just under $33. When I showed up in the store I was told it would cost me 57.20 to ship my package. When I asked how come online the price to show me something a lot less I was told online prices are different with no other explanation. If the prices would’ve been online I would’ve checked FedEx as well as United States postal but unfortunately by the time I was done work and found out how much extra was going to cost me the other two were closed and I need to ship the package that day.
