Freed Gallery — Attraction in Lincoln City

My husband and I drove up from Southern Oregon to buy Lyman Whitaker wind sculptures, as the Freed gallery is the only LW dealer in Oregon. We first saw LW sculptures in Sedona, Arizona and then again in Kayenta, Utah, and finally our landscaping was to the point where we were ready to have our own. We weren’t sure which piece we wanted, however, and went to see them again before making a decision. I corresponded with Emily in advance, and she provided us with a current inventory and price list, as well as advised as to which pieces would fit in our car. When we arrived, the gallery staff couldn’t have been sweeter or more helpful. If the pieces we were considering weren’t already set up outside, they brought them from storage and set them up on poles—in the wind, the rain, and the hail! Each sculpture is beautiful and unique and its difficult to choose a favorite. Watching them move was really key in our decision making. We were able to rule out several because their movement was too “vigorous,” and others because they were too static. After thoughtful observation and deliberation, we managed to narrow it down to two. So, two it was! The staff carefully wrapped and placed our treasures in the car for the journey home.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience or our purchases. We also walked through the rest of the gallery while we were there. The artwork they carry is really fabulous! (There are some fused glass pieces which are absolutely exquisite, and my husband loved the rocking chairs. Only so much room in the car, though!).

Lee Freed who designed the gallery is very selective of high quality and veriety of art.Lee has a great love and understanding of art,that motivated her to help artist to have a income so that they may continue to produce, from mobile sculptures,glass work, ceramics,jewelry, and a great wide range of paintings ,from large to small. The people who work there are very knowledgeable, helpful, and are there to guide you through a panorama of energetic creative energy, so that you leave uplifted, whether you purchase or not. Paid for a modest priced painting here when we were visiting the coast on Sept. 6. Asked that it be shipped to arrive at our place prior to Sept. 15. Nothing happened. Called them. They hadn't bothered trying to pack it yet & didn't notify us.

Asked them to ship it again after Oct. 13. Still no answer from them as of Oct. 17. At this point don't even know if the painting exists any more. Suggested they simply credit my card and call the debacle over and done with. Still haven't heard back from them.
