The 2 stars are for the employee "Bull" and his efforts. I'd rate the food at zero stars, the cleanliness as probably the worst I've seen. The lights in the bathroom weren't working, so we had to hold the door open with one foot so you could see to wash your hands. Every chair had a grimey/sticky feel on the metal backs, so I had to go back to the bathroom, wash my hands again and bring a paper towel back so I could position my seat. There were stray food bits and used napkins all over the dining room. They didn't have a bus-boy so there were a few tables with remnants from recent patrons."Bull" was very nice to our kids and was in a great mood. He has excellent customer service skills, even when faced with a grumpy hungry guy who's had a long day. I had my hopes up because this place had so many positive reviews on Google maps and Yelp and many of the pictures made the food look like decent. I ordered the "303" combo for $10 because I was extremely hungry after a full day of deep sea fishing and hiking the day before. So, I figured that a triple-patty with fries would do the trick. Unfortunately, the patties are about 1/4" thick and only 3" diameter, so a triple-patty is still paltry. The bun was comparable to the cheapest smallest size bun that you'd get at your local grocery store where it's 8 buns for a dollar. You know, the same size and quality as the basic regular $1.29 hamburger at McD's. So, due to the hobbit-sized 303 burger, I finished it in 4 bites and was still hungry. The fries they gave me were room temperature and soggy, like they'd been par-cooked, then left in the fryer basket getting steamed from the fryer oil for an hour, then getting lowered back into the oil for 15 seconds just before serving. As shown in the attached picture, they served about 13 fries with my burger. My wife and her parents got a pinch more, but they were all soggy too. They weren't satisfied. My sister received over cooked fries and was unhappy as well, and the other members of our party received the same soggy limp fries I did. I guess it's too much to expect that fries be cooked correctly. Their version of a grilled-cheese sandwich: 2 slices of American "cheese product", bun wasn't toasted with butter and the whole thing was only about 3.5" diameter. It was the same cheap bun that they used for their regular burgers, but just flip it inside out so you see the white outside. Don't come here if you're moderately hungry, nor if you're looking for a nice big gut-punch burger. I'll admit the meat tasted good, but it's hard to tell because it was gone...
Read moreWe went here recently on our weekend trip to Lincoln City and loved it! We enjoyed it so much we went for dinner and then lunch the next day. The only thing that wasn’t quite right in my opinion was that we had two separate orders that were put in right after each other—the first order was received very quickly but then our second order was received after the customer after us. It wasn’t too long of a wait but I still wanted to note it. When we went for lunch the next day we told the girl working that we wanted “an extra sauce” because we only got one to share the night before, and she personally made sure we had a sauce for each of us. Also I asked for extra pickles and I got a lot more during dinner than I did at lunch time. Also I love that they write your name with ketchup in the special sauce if it’s not too long! (If your name is longer they just put 101 which is still cute!)
The prices were also AWESOME!! A 101 combo is a cheeseburger with one patty and one piece of cheese, fries and a drink for $10. The 202 is two patties and two pieces of cheese with fries and a drink for $12. Very hard to come by such great prices!! My bf had the burger with pastrami, bacon, and grilled jalapeño (which is a limited special I believe) and he really enjoyed that as well.
Parking wasn’t the greatest; there is a good spot right in front on the street that can fit two cars but both times we went there was someone parked that parked in the middle so a second person couldn’t park with them. There was still some parking nearby but I can imagine if it were busier (such as in the summer) it would probably be even more difficult to find parking.
Overall an awesome local burger spot with fantastic prices!! Will be back and will...
Read moreI would have given them five stars on the service, but the guy that helped me was a bit grumpy. But that's all that was amiss.
This place rocks! I would recommend it to anybody coming to Lincoln City that wants a good burger. Their prices are not only with inline, but a tiny bit lower than in line. Extremely reasonable! The food is incredible. Plus, I ran into the owner after commenting on a cow that they've got sitting at the counter with a health inspection taped to it giving them a 100% rating. You sure as hell won't get that from the food cart across the street parked at "The Pines". In fact, that place has many food carts there, but the burger cart they have, which is crudely painted in blue, in my opinion serves substandard food. I could not even communicate with the man that took my order because he spoke no English at all, and the prices were way higher than Highway 101 Burger.
For a quick, fantastic Burger, that is a departure from anything you would get at McDonald's or Burger King, try this place. $10 gets you a cheeseburger, fries, at a Coke. For just a tiny bit more money you can have a double cheeseburger, and a triple. It's up to you. I think the owner's name is Vance, says he's been there for 15 years, and in my opinion has everything to...
