Can someone please tell me how in the world this place can charge $300 for an annual pass? It seemed pretty steep, so I looked at other things that offered an annual pass to compare prices. For comparison, an annual pass at Universal Studios, which has countless activities and options is priced at $309 for a 330 day pass. The annual pass to this ice rink is $300 with 312 public skate days... Of those 312 days, 208 of them are only an hour long! Mon, Tues, Weds and Friday only offer an hour of skating with no Skating on Thursday. An ice rink in Lincoln Nebraska is charging as much as a world class Amusement Park and offering less for it. How does this add up? I get that the schedule varies and that they might have limited time for public skating due to other events and obligations, but come back to the real world with your pricing. It should in no way cost this much for access to an ice rink. The facility itself is great, had a blast taking my family there. So much so that I wanted to get us all annual passes, but not enough to be taken...
Read moreThe kids have fun here, which is the main thing, but for a University run facility it’s lacking in several areas. There is not even close to enough seating in the lobby area. People leave their stuff everywhere since locker rentals are so high. The Zamboni came out 15 minutes into the public skate, but didn’t come out again. Really? Horrible planning. It said there was a public locker room, but when I walked down the hallway to check it out to see if they had more lockers in there, I was chastised by the kid working there. Apparently that is only open for hockey, even though the sign says public locker room. Concession stand also closed halfway through the public skate? Really, you can’t manage a soda fountain and bags of chips for two hours?? Probably a great place to watch college hockey, but needs a lot of improvement for...
Read moreAside from falling on my skates in the bathroom (I have terrible balance) I had a really great time. If you don’t know how to ice skate then it’s a great place, because they have red things you can hold on to so you don’t fall. It is a little crowded in the rink, and there are some obnoxious people who will push the little ones, so make sure your child has an adult with them. I would even say children under 16 should go with their parent or guardian because when I went people were pushing other people, and a lot of them were teenagers, and that is why I left 4 stars. You may bring your own skates, but they have a skate rental place, so you don’t have to go BUY your ice skates. In all, my friends and I had fun, but be careful about balance and safety. If you go, it will be a really...
