After we had a good experience the first time going, we decided to give this place another shot as we were in town for UNL's move-in weekend. We were seated pretty quickly for our table of six.
I sat observing the staff and had staff members look toward our table and walk past our table seven times in about 10 minutes. One of the waitresses stopped at the bar and asked the person behind the bar, "Are you going to wait on 43?" (low and behold, that was us). Still no one came to the able. After another five minutes, I went to the host and asked if anyone was going to come to our table. He apologized and went around to figure out who was going to come to our table. He went to the kitchen area and saw four people turn and look at our table with a female (assuming manager) ask if anyone was going to come to table 43 because "they have been there for about 15 minutes." Finally, Olivia came over (same person that asked the person at the bar if he was going to wait on us), half-heartily apologized and proceed to take our drink and food order since we obviously had plenty of time to look it over (seemed like we were a waste of her time since we were obviously not her section). When she brought us our drinks, she left so quickly (jogged away) to the kitchen to get food and take to another table before we could even ask for straws. Another person from our party had to go up to the server area and WAIT for someone to acknowledge her to ask for straws.
After about another 15-20 minutes waiting for the food (which would be typically for pizza), they came by and said that "we don't have any pizza servers as they are all dirty", so we had to use our knives and hands to break apart some of the hot pizza. My son decided he didn't want pizza so he ordered the meatball hoagie and when his food came last, a female (assuming manager, but not sure) made a remark about who the oddball was to not order pizza. After the frustration of our visit, and our tempers already high, this was not a very considerate comment to make.
Olivia came by once to see how everything was. We did not see her again to see how things were, or to ask for refills (every person at our table had an empty glass for at least half of our visit).
It took her a long while to come back to our table again to ask if we need boxes and we had to prompt her we wanted our bill.
This was definitely not the same experience that we had the first time and this will very likely be our last. With 50% capacity at most, business was much different than the first time we went and what we experienced above should not have been the case for the 50% capacity business. Given that pretty much the entire staff knew that we were unhappy with the extended wait to get waited on, one would have thought that the staff would attempt to go the extra mile to improve our time there. Not one visit from anyone identifying to be a member of the management team to talk to us to apologize for the wait.
We used to recommend this place based off of the one visit and we...
Read moreI've been coming here since the open and am now changing my 5 star review. Tonight was horrendous. There was a visibly intoxicated young man (20-25) when we were first seated....and when I say "visibly intoxicated" I mean nodding off at his seat, unable to speak, keep his eyes open, or stay awake. He had just spilled his drink all over his table and himself when we arrived, his piss poor excuse for a friend was loudly swearing about cleaning it up as he mopped up the liquid with the tables napkins. No one came to clean the puddle on the floor or help with the table mess. For 40 minutes our table watched the "friend" walk away, leaving his intoxicated companion face down in the table and falling over himself in the booth. Their waitress came, noticed the now unconscious man, dropped off the food and left. The "friend" returned and began harassing my table to "video me throwing this at his face" showing us the large handful of napkins from the puddle off the floor. I not so politely told him to get the hell away from us. Staff watched this entire encounter. Still the young man laid passed out at the table, legs wide apart and his wide legged shorts left little to the imagination, giving everyone in the dining area a show. To make matters worse, when the young man came to, he vomited all over the table and himself. His "friend" again returned swearing at him loudly and dragging him to the front door...but before he could make it he vomited all over the entrance of the restaurant. Every table got a show. The young man puked all the way to the bathroom, a literal trail of vomit followed him. The "friend" then walked INTO THE BACK OF THE RESTAURANT loudly telling staff, "my friend threw up". They handed him a mop and he began smearing vomit all over the restaurant floor. The table still laid covered in puke, no effort made to hide or clean it as staff argued over who would clean the mess. The manager came over at our request and she admitted she didn't know what was going on, so we explained. She then admitted she reached out to the GM because she wasn't sure of protocols. I've waited tables, I've bartended, I understand that things happen beyond our control. What was within the control of staff was not handled in the least. This young person was a hazard to himself and others, and the staff did not do one thing correctly. The real concern isn't even about the over an hour wait time for a pizza, the concern lies in the irresponsibility of every single person that was on staff. They seem not to realize nor care that their responsibility to maintain a safe environment is up to all of them. This was more than disappointing, this was inexcusable and very well could have ended in...
Read moreQuite possibly the worst service I ever had. Waitress (Cat) had a look on her face of shock and bewilderment, almost as if I had burned down a rainforest when I said I would take a straw with my drink. Went through my whole meal without her ever even asking if the food was satisfactory, she passed by several times while my glass was near empty, never even asked if I wanted a refill. When I asked if there were any sides, she looked at me dumbfounded and literally said "uhhh, I mean, like, uhhh, what exactly do you mean by sides??" She seemed more interested in going to spend 5+ minutes chatting with her friends who happened to be dining in. This was after I had asked for ranch when ordering our meal, and then again when the food came without the ranch, she said she would grab it, disappeared toward the kitchen for three or four minutes, came back and walked right past our table to go chat with her friends for the 5+ minutes. Walked right back by my wife and I, and didn't even mention not getting our ranch, or even acknowledge us for that matter. We then proceeded to wait another 3 or 4 minutes for her to come back, she never did. Mind you, there is only 3 other occupied tables at this time. Finally, my wife got up to go to the kitchen and get the ranch, because her food had been sitting there getting cold for the last 10 minutes, because she wanted to enjoy it with the ranch we requested when ordering, then again right after being brought the food. When my wife went to go get our ranch, she found Cat standing around, chatting and laughing it up with the kitchen crew. There were 2-3 people, standing behind the hostesses counter chatting and laughing it up as well, nearly the entire hour and 15 minutes we were there (also no more than 3 tables filled the entire time, and it still took over 40 minutes for our food to come out). The staff had no intention of providing adequate customer service, or even a friendly environment for the guests. The only person who asked how my food was, was the hostess, who brought us the ranch after my wife got up and asked the men in the kitchen for it. The food was decent, but not worth going back...
