Felt like we were chased out. My wife and I went there last night after an event. It was late so we knew getting food might be tough anywhere downtown. Gate 25 web page said the kitchen was open until 10 pm and it was 9:40 pm. Since the whole place does not close until 12 am, we figured it would be okay to order food. If the whole place closed at 10 pm, I would never order food before CLOSING but it was not; just the kitchen closes. One would assume they cook food up until 10 pm and all we wanted was a cheeseburger to split since it was late and have a few beers. We sat at the table and asked to see a menu. The waitress told us the kitchen was getting ready to close, which was in 20 mins, and we could look into getting food at Leadbelly. I was blown away. We left and I can't see going back. Cool looking place though.
7/10/19 Update-I was asked to email the owner to explain the situation which I did. They were very interested at first to hear of the issue. I explained in detail and never heard back and it's been a couple weeks now. All I wanted...
Read moreThrough these gates pass the greatest fans in college football. Unfortunately at Gate 25 those fans are met with a subpar Husker experience. We stopped in here for some drinks and food after a football game. When we walked in the TV volume was ear piercing. On a Saturday evening, the bar was already out of one of the drinks we ordered so it had to be changed. 15 minutes after ordering a BBQ bacon cheeseburger and a wedge salad we were told they were out of bacon. When the plates came out, one meal was delivered with the wrong side.
When the bill came, we were surprised that the bill was not discounted for the lack of bacon. Even worse, the burgers were each $2 more expensive than listed on the menu. Maybe due to it being gameday but that was not stated anywhere we noticed in the menu or posted in the restaurant. We paid the bill and promptly left, trying to salvage what was left of...
Read moreConveniently located by the Arena. The place was packed, I didn't know there was a concert so as a foreigner I thought it was crazy busy because the drinks and food were amazing or something. So I patiently looked for a place to sit down. I ended up in the middle of two parties. The place was LOUD.
The server was trying to keep up with tune demand. Took forever to be seen, then she brought the menu, took my order and then I waited for about 45 minutes for my food to arrive. I ordered the Gate 25 special, which happened to be a beef cheese melt. I chose sweet potato fries on the side. It was pretty good but quite salty.
I also got the cider on tap. Can't remember the name but I liked it.
Overall, a...
