I came here on a double date with my fiance and another couple because they had good ratings and vegetarian options (one from the couple was vegetarian).
The menu here really is amazing! It was so hard to pick what to go for.
The best part here is the Butterbeer! I'm not usually one who goes for the drinks at a restaurant so I only had some of it from my fiancé, but I really really wanted one for myself! It was so good! The perfect amount of sweetness and I could have probably had this whole thing in one big gulp!
I ended up going for a funky variation of the salad. I asked for the cob salad but with blackened shrimp instead of steak, red onions instead of fried onions, and extra greens instead of tomato and zucchini. I also asked for dressing on the side but when the salad game the dressing was all over it. I ended up getting a new one. This actually took a fair amount of time to come and everyone had already started eating by then. The Gorgonzola and dressing went really well with everything in the salad. The major downside was the shrimp. It was extra salty! I tried to wipe out the coating with the paper towel to get rid of the salt but it was just too much. Like very very salty! The kitchen was closed at this point so I couldn't ask for another replacement. Otherwise the salad would have been so good! Very big portion size which I really liked.
My fiance got the Raspberry Beret burger because I really recommended that one. It was Candied bacon, romaine, red onion, jerk-ginger peanut butter, raspberry-jalapeño jelly. He said everything went amazing together! I tried some of that raspberry jalapeno jelly when it dripped onto my hand and it was so good! He also had a side salad and steamed broccoli. Even the potion size of that side salad was quite big! We were both impressed.
The friend who was vegetarian? Went for the Viva Las Vegan ( a veggie burger). I think he found it quite a dry and wanted something like a teriyaki or barbecue sauce which they didn't have either. He probably end up going for ranch or something. I don't think he was too pleased by that dry factor.
The other girl in the party got the shrimp salad as it was. I think she liked it but the portion was so huge she couldn't finish it! I'm not sure if her shrimp was salty.
Overall good place but I guess the experience depends on...
Read moreWe tried this restaurant for the first time last week. We were told, "Try anything, it's all good!" We were especially encouraged to try the Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls. They were SO good!! They came with queso awesome, I think is what the sauce was called. Also delicious!! A little pricey for only two egg rolls but definitely delicious!! My sister and I like to share two entrees when we try new restaurants, our waitress could tell we were doing so when we ordered and she brought us our food, she had split it onto separate plates! We thought this was super thoughtful, and impressive. Like I said, we do this often and usually servers just bring us extra plates which works just fine but taking the time to split our meals was so thoughtful! On to the food! We ordered a grown up mac and cheese dish and added grilled chicken. It was great!! The cheese sauce was creamy, cheesy, and stringy. The chicken was wonderfully cooked and seasoned. I would argue some of the best chicken I have ever had at a restaurant, which I was not expecting since it was just an add on item. The second dish we got to share was the crusted parmesan steak. The description sounded really yummy and so did the grilled corn on the cob! I was excited to try this dish. At $15 it was one of the most expensive dishes, which is pretty inexpensive for steak. It was horrible! The "crusted" part of the steak was mushy and simply tasted like eggs, which was not pleasing, the parmesan was cold and hard, and the steak was so thin and hard that it was inedible. I couldn't believe the quality of this dish compared to everything else we had received that night. Furthermore, the "grilled" corn on the cob showed no signs of being grilled and was severely over cooked and mushy which made it also inedible. Whatever the second side that came with this entree was, it must not have been impressionable because I do not recall what it was or liking it much, although it was probably the best thing the plate had to offer. The only reason I gave the restaurant a 4 star rating was because of that dish. Everything else was so wonderful, I would've...
Read moreIt's been a long while since my wife, & I had been here, or at least long enough neither of us remember. Anyhow we both from time to time get in these moods where we want to try something new or different, so we desided to go to LeadBelly. To described it, it's basically somewhat of an average size sports bar style restaurant with a fair menu selection of mainly burgers, & sandwiches. Upon entering we found an easy horseshoe bench seat, & soon after were offered menus. We looked it over, I got a Turkey Club, with fries, & my wife got Southwestern cobb salad with blacked chicken. When the meals arrived both looked very good, & were. The Turkey Club was bigger then I could bite, but was deliciously good on toasted brioche, the fries were another story over cooked & crunchy hard for the most part. The side cup of ranch we got had a nice flavor. The service we got was satisfactory. Aside from our meals themselves, we did find a few things that were a little less then desired. A slight cool breeze existed everytime some one came or left. The resturant a little on the loud side, but typical of a sports bar. On our ticket whether standard or server intended is not known, but my wife noticed a 25% gratuity charge, which for us is not cool, as we prefer to offer tips (original meaning of tips to insure promt service) based on the merit of the service provided. The only other thing of annoyance were the paper straws offered for our drinks, though long time known plastic ones would of been preferred. Mealwise it's good food, & in that you won't be...
