Lisle Lanes — Attraction in Lisle

Have been here plenty of times before and never had an issue. This review is solely based on poor customer service.

We reserved two lanes for 7 people total and prepaid for 3 games. We goofed and had 4 people in the wrong lane for 2 complete games. The third game ended after 2 frames and we went to the desk to ask why. We were told it was because we had the wrong number of people in our lane and there was “nothing we can do.” The manager talked to us for a few minutes, realized we were upset, and walked away. The younger man at the desk just reiterated we were SOL. So we paid for 3 games and only bowled 2. There was no politeness from the staff, no willingness to help or provide proper customer service. It’s a bowling alley and they’re acting like they couldn’t reset the game as a courtesy. All they had to do was restart the game for us, but they stated we had to pay if we wanted to keep playing. Ridiculous and just a disservice to themselves since we will not be returning.

The bar service was also incredibly slow. Prices were fair but it took 15 minutes to get one drink. Advice to management: work with your paying customers and actually provide good...

Go anywhere else if you’re looking for a fun night out. We won’t be returning to this location. The front desk was great, however, the place itself is outdated and the bartender working last night seemed to have a god complex. She asked for our ID which was not a problem, but as my friend went to grab her ID the bartender stated to her boyfriend, who had his ID showing he was 26, “let’s wait for that ID, I bet it comes back saying she’s 16”.

First off that is completely unprofessional. I understand if she had been cited for serving underage before and needs to see IDS or in general needing to check IDs that is not the problem. BUT keep your rude comments to yourself.

Then when we went up a second time for drinks I asked for no ice in mine as I had ice from my previous drink still she had to comment that it was “weird” and “who doesn’t want ice in their drink?”. I didn’t care on the amount or not but the ice watered it down so quickly.

If you are a league bowler or even just a serious bowler, these lanes are perfect for you. They oil them almost every day, except Tuesdays when no leagues are bowling. For open bowlers, the prices are very reasonable. You could rent per game or by the hour. Mondays through Fridays are cheaper than coming in Saturday and Sunday. They also have a 3 game special which includes shoes rental. They do have music but it is a jukebox where you have to put money into. The only negative thing that I can think of is there is a $10 minimum to use a credit or debit card but if you do the 3 game special, you are ok. I would suggest calling ahead of time to make a reservation especially during the evenings because some leagues take up a majority of the Lanes.
