This was really good. I recommend it and will probably seek it out again and try other things as well, but the sandwich was one I'll return for.
I had the Crazy Torta, which basically has a bit of everything. Breaded steak (or chicken, but I got steak), ham, sausage (hot dogs, functionally), bacon, cheese and avocado and some veggies (I asked for no jalapeño.). It was messy, but really great. BIG sandwich. You eat half, and then you are like "Okay, I could eat more or stop, but it's really good" and then you eat the rest and you're pleased, but you feel like maybe you probably should have stopped.
I had some reservations about what's there for vegetarians, as my wife is a pescatarian. On the board of specials that's in store and apparently represented on the Facebook page, they did have Chile Rellenos. My wife said "It's okay." about that, nothing that she was nowhere as pleased I was.
Kids had ground beef tacos and cheese quesadilla and sides of rice, and they liked that well enough. They love spanish rice and each had a side of that and were happiest with that.
This is a good Mexican place in an area that's has several good Mexican places. That being said the namesake item, The Crazy Torta, is kind of crazy how well it works and it's fairly unique.
I have been there a few times now, mostly still favoring the Crazy Torta but the birria specials have been very good as well and at least one of my kids like that so it...
Read moreCrazy Tortas has come a long way. I talked to the owner and they redid the menu as well as created their own website. I’ve been here several times now. They always provide good, reliable service. This is a great mom and pop restaurant. Prices are not expensive, they’re cheap to reasonable. They do not use Tostito Rounds and they give you a lot of meat in the tortas as you can see in the pictures. Don’t listen to false reviews.
Food wise, I would give a 4/5. Chips are tasty, not too salty. They have a wide array of sauce (hot and spicy. You can take as much as you like). Horchata is delicious. Free refills. Here is the food I’ve gotten.
-Crazy Torta 5/5 - they used to have one that was big enough to feed 2 people. -Aloha Torta 4/5 - smoked pork chop could be more moist and less chewy. -Quesabirrias 5/5 - my favorite item so far. That broth is full of flavor. -Tacos - 4/5 - i recommend al pastor, ground beef, asada, and chorizo. Smoked pork chop and birrias were okay. Smoked pork chop was too chewy. Birrias was too dry, it would be great with the broth...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious! So glad we tried it. We split some taquitos, I got the Mexicana burrito, a corona and a Jamaica. My husband had the Birria Torta and a sprite. There's also a little salsa station. The taquitos were delicious and super crisp. They paired exceptionally well with the two green salsas. Portions were generous. My burrito was perfect. Super meaty with great tasting steak, packed well and well ratio'd and tightly wrapped with the perfect amount of crispiness. Definitely top 2 burritos of all time for me. My husband got the Birria Torta and I will probably get that next time ... The Birria was so tender and delicious, the bread was soft but strong enough to hold up and the consume was HANDS DOWN the most hearty and flavorful consume I've ever had. The gentleman told us they use the broth from the meat. The whole torta was just mouthwateringly delicious.
We will...
