The best cheeses I have had and tasted in Pennsylvania since leaving NYC. Are you a cheese lover? If so, look no further and head on down to The Savory Gourmet They have so many selections of cheeses, and nope, this is not your local grocery cheeses. We were greeted by Dan, and he endulged us in taste testing several cheeses that we then bought. It was a palette explosion experience. The freshness and the various types of cheeses will have you going back for more. They also have some of the best dips and spreads we had to try and buy, not to mention the sweet olive oil tortas and the black truffle chips. We made ourselves a delicious tasty platter last night with all of our purchases, and that was our dinner. Your palette is left so clean from eating so fresh and healthy. Cheese is our favorite and we have visited MANY shops in our travels The Savory Gourmet is #1 on our cheese shops list :) The shop is cute, clean, & well organized. The owners & employees are welcoming, sweet, and very knowledgeable. They go above & beyond to know what the customers like & allow you to sample their recommendations which helps choose the perfect cheeses. NOW about the cheeses...they are AMAZING!!! Sweet, savory, spicy, mild, sharp and everything in between. We also bought the most amazing Pâté, cured pork, salami & chorizo. Highly recommended. We stopped in this morning shortly after opening. The gentleman working there was very attentive and answered all of our questions. We were browsing the cheeses and without hesitation handled us a sample of something we were considering getting. We had a very pleasant experience and purchased several of the cheeses. He wanted to make sure it met our expectations before making the purchase and offered a sample to us. We also purchased some alligator tenderloins, which were absolutely delicious.
