I strongly advise caution when shopping at this store. They clearly have no intention of standing behind the products they sell. If you purchase something that turns out to be defective, don’t expect any help. The store refuses to replace faulty items, regardless of the situation!
I experienced this firsthand today when I bought a $40 RC car for my daughter. After charging it and trying to use it, the car simply wouldn’t work. When we returned it to the store, the staff acknowledged that the "servos" were malfunctioning but still refused to replace it. I expressed my disappointment, explaining that this kind of policy is unacceptable and that I would be writing a review, and their response was, “I’m not scared.” That speaks volumes about the store’s attitude toward customer concerns.
It’s clear that the employees are just following company policy. It's not their fault but I wanted to share this experience so others are aware before making a purchase. It’s a gamble buying expensive items from Hobby Town, and I regret trusting them with...
Read moreWe have spent well over $1000 in this store over the last 2-2 1/2 months, not to mention referring people here for RC cars which the employees have said thank you for so we know they are aware we are sending them business. My husband bought a car yesterday to replace one we already had that broke. We had tried to fix the old one but were not given the correct parts and it broke again, this car is over $200. So we were going to try this exact car one more time, opened it up, charged the battery and it drove 6 feet before breaking. Took back to HobbyTown and they refused to give a refund, refused to order anything else that my husband actually wanted and told him he could have a gift card or the same car again. Since there is nothing else that we wanted for $200 in their store we had to go with the same car that has busted twice. Not pleased with this store and won't be sending anyone else there. I would suggest treating your repeat customers a lot better and not selling products that continue to break. We...
Read moreI recently purchased a motor and esc online (order #8739307) to have shipped to the store. I usually do this so I can purchase other parts in store when I pick up my item. I usually ship to the Lakewood, CO store, but this time I sent them to the Littleton store as it would be a little more convenient. Package was marked as delivered Saturday, but I received no call from the store. No big deal, I stopped by Tuesday to pick it up and when I explained to the employee what I was looking for, they said "we hate it when people do that. We're a franchise so we don't get a cut of it. It's better if you just send it to yourself." And proceeded to be very annoyed while looking for my package. In a respectful manner, I pointed out that I was here to purchase other parts as well, and if it were an option on the website, it was part of being a franchisee. I made it very clear how rude I thought he was being. I'll support the Colpar locations...
