UPDATE 5/11/24: Still one of my favorite parks. The main trail is a great morning walk. If you go to the lakeside entrance it's a smaller parking lot.
Come to the main parking lot and take the trail that goes around the lake and ends at the gazebo and dock with all the ducks.
Great for families, fur babies, and little ones. Good exercise and sunrise on the lake is so beautiful.
I usually see folks fishing, playing disc golf, or even quidditch on the weekends.
There's a playground, pavilion, and bathrooms as well. Great park!
Old Review: Absolutely loved it for the huge pond alone. The trails are pretty nice and kept clean. They have a skate park too which is cool if you're into that. Plenty of playgrounds and picnic/BBQ areas. Would be cool for the summer holidays but it does get hot. Bring plenty of water. If you go out to the pond they have paddle boats to rent too!
The trail around the pond is great too. Usually if you do two laps it's about 2.7-3.25 miles. They also have Quidditch on the weekends!
I've seen other people bring their pups but if you have a reactive/anxious dog I'd avoid the pond areas. There are lots of ducks and geese. Bring birdseed or frozen peas...
Read moreBeen living here over 20 years and wouldn't live anywhere else in the San Antonio Metroplex. Fantastic city park with 2 playgrounds...a fairly new basketball court...couple of soccer fields...a football field...2 baseball diamonds and 2 championship disc golf courses designed by world renowned disc golf course designer John Houck...an awesome police and fire dept and a great city government that takes good care of its citizens. Plenty of shopping nearby and new stores and restaurants opening all the time in the New Live Oak Towne Center. I tell everyone that asks that you dont need to leave our little quadrant for anything...its all right here. So if you're looking for an awesome place to raise your family or retire to or a young couple just starting out or your a single parent then look no further than Live Oak, Texas. That's my honest...
Read moreThe park has a nice long walkway adjacent to a small lake. Lots of ducks and geese walking around as well.
There is a small skate park, they have 2 fields, one of which is baseball/softball field, not sure about the second.
The playground itself is large with multi-tiers for the bigger kids and huge slides. There are plenty of smaller slides for the smaller kids as well.
The rock wall is a bit unique, there is what appears to be a pile of rocks that the kids can climb, about maybe 10 feet high.
The entire park is clean and the facilities are in good condition. There is a Frisbee golf (frolf?) course but I haven't seen anyone use it so I can't really vouch for its condition.
The only issue is that parking can be scarce but if you're willing to park a bit further into the residential area and walk a bit it's...
