Came upon the San Antonio Model Railroad Association by accident while working on Toepperwein Rd.   Most visitors  are also  not aware of this gem  located here & that it is one of the longest miniature  railroad tracks in Texas.   Admission is Free.   A guided tour is available.  For those desiring more information, a library room is open for your use.     Impressed with  all the details  of rail/train construction,  displays  and care  by the museum staff to make this a must see for all train lovers.   If I  remember correctly,  the train travels on rails  from San Antonio  thru New Braunfels to Fort Worth.  Highly recommend to all, especially families.   Make a 1/2 day +/-   out of a visit to this mini train musuem  at no...

My wife and I dropped in on Sunday July 1st. I can't emphasis enough how friendly the folks at this club are. First off, there was no entry fee. Then we got a 45 minute tour of all the trains and the huge set pieces. The set peices have so much detail. All HO scale. But they did have some larger trains on display. Very clean. If you enjoy model trains in San Antonio area it's a must see. Also Sundays are their open run days, they must of had 9 going at the same time, with one over 40 cars long. Very family friendly, everyone was welcoming and had a smile on their face.

Thank you again for the...

This is the place to go to if you want to see you about model trains or learn about them. I definitely suggest you take your kids. Or if you're a kid at heart. I took my son and he was overjoyed and overwhelmed. For my first time here I was even shocked. As soon as I walked in the door I knew this place was a five-star. I suggest everyone should go here and expecially tried to make a donation to keep this place open. They even gave me information to other places and events. I will...

This is a great layout to visit. I originally learned about it at one of the national MNRA association annual meetings. My dad and I had the full tour. Everyone at the club was ex-Air Force, so dad talked with them for about an hour (did is 91 years old, retired O-8). I definitely will stop back for one of their fun op-sessions. My Ann Arbor F-3 will see action in Texas.

Absolutely love everything about this place and the people that are running it. We have been warmly welcomed the moment we walked in. Their layout is very detailed and very large. We loved it so much we have joined their group as well. If you ever get a chance to come, please do. It's worth it for any model train lover, or some one who would like learn about the trains.

The display here is a very large running HO scale display with many other gauge of trains on display. They have many days that are open when they are running the trains. All of the volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable about the trains, display and Texas railroad history. It is a very nice place to visit. It is free but a small donation is always appreciated.
