Donut & Kolache Palace — Restaurant in Live Oak

Update: it's a 50 50 shot these days sigh... glazed donuts were so terrible this time I had to spit them out and throw them away... tasted like old rotten grease... bluh. I believe there's new owners or employees that just can't get it consistent... Update: went today, having not gone in a while... everything was back to being delicious again. Hope it continues! The woman who served us today was the friendliest staff member I've ever seen there, so it was extra nice today. Yay! I used to rate this place 5 stars... but, lately things have been off? Did ownership or something change? Anyone know? I'd prefer to shop here over a chain; but, this month and last the kolaches and the doughnuts have declined in taste and moistness... the doughnuts used to be amazing... not so much lately. I hope things go back...

I went to Donut Palace today, and the employee was not just rude. I can handle rude, but this woman was angry that I walked through the door! When I asked her for a chocolate cream filled donut, she snapped at me, yelling "I don't have those. I'm out of those!" So I said "well, what kind is that?" since it was labeled chocolate-filled, and she quickly said something about wedding cake or something. She took off, leaving me in the front of the store to go back and tend to her child, who she was yelling at in between yelling at me. It was absolutely terrible! I asked her if she was the owner, and she said no, to which I replied "I can tell because you were extremely rude!"

I really hope the owner reads this review so that she can do something about...

Super disappointing that a mixed dozen is not available here at a decent price. I paid almost $16 for a dozen donuts that at Dunkin I would have spent $10 on. My dozen included 2 filled donuts the rest cake and glazed. They charge you individually for the filled and the mixed dozen has to be a uniformed dozen without cake donuts apparently. So was charged half a dozen, then 2x filled, then remaining at another price. Honestly, the donuts quality is okay. They need to reconsider being more competitive with other spots. I live in the community so I'll continue to support. But please consider revaluating your dozen all inclusive price. Or state somewhere in your business the...
