Absolutely Horrible Experience – Rude Staff and Money-Hungry Management
My experience at Crunch Fitness Livingston has been nothing short of awful, and I feel compelled to warn others about this place. From the moment you walk in, the staff’s attitude makes you feel like you’re unwelcome. They are consistently rude, unprofessional, and seem to be annoyed by even the simplest of questions. It’s clear that customer service is not a priority at this location, and they have no interest in helping you out unless it’s about collecting more money from you.
The management is just as bad, if not worse. They only care about one thing: getting your money. They make it incredibly difficult to change anything on your membership, and they treat you like an inconvenience whenever you ask for help. If you have any questions about your membership or billing, be prepared to be met with hostility or condescension. It feels like they go out of their way to make sure you regret even approaching them.
Not only is the customer service abysmal, but there is also a complete lack of transparency when it comes to membership details. Trying to make even the smallest adjustments to your account turns into an ordeal, and the staff makes you feel stupid for asking questions. They do nothing to make you feel valued as a member, and instead, they act as though you should feel lucky just to be allowed in the building.
Overall, Crunch Fitness Livingston is a toxic environment where the staff and management couldn’t care less about their members. If you’re looking for a gym that treats you with respect and values your business, look elsewhere. This place is a joke, and their terrible attitude and poor treatment of members make it one of the worst gyms I’ve ever been to....
Read moreEdit: Five months later, we’ve gone back sporadically. Each time, the facility has opened right on time. It didn’t matter the day, the gym opened on time. I'm updating this review to 5 stars, as it should be. They addressed the concern and made sure it was no longer an issue. The staff is excellent and friendly. The equipment continues to be well-maintained and organized. You can tell they take pride in maintaining the space, and in turn, the people who work out here respect the facility.
The facility itself is excellent. It is well-organized and architecturally sound. It is new, well kept so far, and spacious. People respect the gym, and that’s what matters most. I switch between a few gyms in Essex County, and I am typically a fan of Crunch Gyms.
I’ve had issues with this gym's opening time, in particular. I go right when they open at 5 a.m., and in the few times we’ve gone, we have not been able to start on time. A few minutes typically isn’t an issue, but for a “Top Rated Fitness Center,” you would expect promptness and attention to detail.
Today, after 30 minutes of waiting in the lot, we decided to leave and go to another location alongside the 15/20 other people who were left to scramble and get their morning workout started elsewhere. This is unacceptable.
I need not go into detail about how people can’t waste time in the morning between the commute, getting to and from the gym before work, etc., but it puts a wrench in your day. When you arrive on time and there are things outside of your control that hinder the progression of your day, it’s very frustrating. Hopefully, they can improve opening hours, but we will resort to other locations for now.

Read moreWhen i come to this gym all I want to do is to get my work out in and leave. Unlike the other commenters here I really appreciate the fact they don't waste my time with these silly greatings. This location is also very big and clean but not too big like home Depot. All this is 5 stars in my book.
Unfortunately there are also quite a few negatives. I have OCD and the handle bar rack is such a mess, they really need another one because it is really triggering and a nuisance to me. I feel sorry for those who are just trying to get a workout in.
The other day i was using the bathroom and there was no paper towels in the bathroom. I am NOT blowing that nasty air all over my clean hands. Even a facility such as planet fitness has the courtesy to put papertowels in the bathroom. I know you have a lot of papertowels stored in a closet somewhere. Give me.
Its also very disrespectful to me and my guest when they FORCE US to sign in and also take our id. dont they know this is our personal information and personal property? Me and my guests should be treated with the upmost respect due to the fact that I have purchased a premium membership.
Im writing this in hopes that someone will read my review and make some changes, then i will change my review. this gym is so convenient for me and driving all the way to parsippany is such a hassle. Im worried that they wont even bother with responding, it seems like all the responses have a copy and pasted reply. also why do they tell you to email the review?, That is their job not mine. Honestly they probably dont want the higher ups to see these negative reviews.
