Mezza Mediterranean in Livingston is a true culinary gem that has captured my heart and taste buds! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, inviting atmosphere that set the stage for a remarkable dining experience. The restaurant's decor combines modern elegance with Mediterranean charm, creating a relaxing ambiance that instantly transports you to the shores of the Mediterranean. The staff members were incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Now, let's talk about the food! Mezza Mediterranean offers a wide range of mouthwatering dishes that showcase the vibrant flavors of the region. From fresh salads and flavorful dips to hearty mains and indulgent desserts, every item on the menu is crafted with care and attention to detail. One of the highlights of my dining experience was the mezze platter, a delightful assortment of small plates that allowed me to sample a variety of Mediterranean flavors. From the creamy hummus and smoky baba ganoush to the tangy tzatziki and crispy falafel, each bite was a burst of freshness and authenticity. The platter was beautifully presented and perfect for sharing with friends and family. For the main course, I opted for the grilled lamb chops, and they were nothing short of extraordinary. The succulent meat was cooked to perfection, seasoned with aromatic herbs and spices that enhanced the natural flavors. It was served with a side of fluffy rice pilaf and a medley of grilled vegetables, creating a harmonious combination that delighted my taste buds. The menu at Mezza Mediterranean also offers a wide array of vegetarian and vegan options, ensuring that every guest can find something to suit their preferences. From hearty falafel wraps and vegetable tagines to flavorful stuffed grape leaves and fragrant couscous dishes, the selection is diverse and inclusive. To accompany the meal, Mezza Mediterranean offers an excellent selection of wines, including some notable Mediterranean varieties that perfectly complement the flavors of the food. The attentive staff members are more than happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences. The dining experience at Mezza Mediterranean extends beyond the exceptional food. The restaurant's commitment to hospitality and creating a welcoming environment is evident in every aspect of the visit. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a casual night out, Mezza Mediterranean offers an unforgettable experience. In conclusion, Mezza Mediterranean in Livingston is a culinary haven that delivers an outstanding Mediterranean dining experience. With its delectable dishes, inviting ambiance, and attentive service, it has undoubtedly become my go-to destination for Mediterranean cuisine. If you're searching for an authentic and memorable dining experience, Mezza Mediterranean is a must-visit.

Edit: owner contacted within few mins of the posting the review and offered to make things right. I do appreciate the effort of reaching out immediately to address the issue. ----------------------------------------------- As much as I hate putting a bad review, a message needs to be sent to the management team. Location came highly recommended from a local friend so we decided to try it today with a larger group of 14. Getting a reservation at 12:45 lunch time on a Saturday was easy and the host was very courteous to us. I understand larger groups are not easy to handle especially if busy. However when we arrived there might be 2-3 other tables. The restaurant was still 70% empty. We placed our orders at 1pm and did not received until after 2:15. We did not receive the pita bread until an hr after arrival. The young server seemed new so we tried to be as patient as possible. If the restaurant was completely full , then we understand food generally will take longer. As we were waiting no one came to check on us to see if we needed anything. Management or someone in charge was no where to be found. When the food actually came out it was delicious! But the experience was ruined because of the poor service. When we asked for the manager , we were told they stepped out. However, when we were done he miraculously appeared to drop the bill. Did not bother to ask how our experience. And when we found out he was indeed the manager on staff he left again in your black Audi s5. Such a loss potential as the food was actually great, but if you don’t fix your service don’t expect people to recommend this place or come back.

We made reservations for a group of 15 people at 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. There was maybe 2 or 3 other tables at the time. Waiter took our order and everything within 20 mins. The waiter came back a total of 4 times asking for our order over and over again. After 1 hour, we finally got served bread for the table. During that time, no one came to refill our water or anything. Half the staff was just standing around not doing anything. The host in the front just on her phone, not giving a care. After being the restaurant for nearly 2 hours, we got our food. We asked for the manager to see what was going on, but was told that they weren't there. Food was decent, but nearly everything was cold. They even got me order wrong when I ask the waiter, who took my order, for their recommendation on either sandwich or bowl. So out of the 15 people, I had to wait an extra 15 mins for my plate. Towards the end, the manager magically appeared and proceeded to just drop the check on our table and walked out. Not a single word from him. Just the check and that's it. We asked if we can speak to him, but the staff "couldn't find him." They didn't ask how we were paying, but added a credit charge on our bill along with 20% gratuity. We paid in cash. The staff has no direction. The manager is clearly not doing his job. Just very unprofessional of the manager to just not even say a word to us. I don't know how it is acceptable anywhere to wait 2 hours for food. I can only imagine how this place is ran if it's a full house. Would 100% stay away, or order your food the day prior.

Theoretically, I would give it a 0/1 for service and a 4/5 for food. So two stars is not an accurate depiction overall, but it’s the best that’s available at the moment. Food truly was generally quite enjoyable, but there were so many service issues that I couldn’t fully recommend the place. I would give it another try because everybody can have an off night. And for me food is the most important thing. To start we had to wait and wait and wait for our waiter to show up to give us water and wine glasses. Actually had to get up to ask the host send over a waiter. He then disappeared only to stop by again for our order for dinner- which somehow he screwed up. We had ordered several appetizers as part of our dinner course and they all came out with the other appetizers. The mezza was OK, Tzaziki was probably the highlight but the hummus and baba ghanouj were bland to sour. Octupus had an interesting preparation but was a relatively small portion for the price and didn’t taste fresh. Israeli salad was quite good but you have to love tomatoes to enjoy it. I’ve had Israeli salad at many places and there’s usually a better balance of cucumbers and tomatoes and often includes peppers. The dressing was very good. Grape leaves were good but the dill that was mentioned in the description was nonexistent. Somehow two of the appetizers that were ordered for our entrée course showed up at the same time as our appetizers and instead of sending them back to make them waste the food, we were nice and said we’ll take them. They ended up being two of the highlights of the evening, the Persisn shrimp and the Israeli fish tacos. Our waiter never showed up to check on how things were or apologize for the mixup. Then we waited and waited and waited for our entrées to arrive. They were delicious, well prepared, and nice size portions,-the skirt steak and the Kofta. We finally saw our waiter again when it was time to order dessert. At this point I think he knew we were quite annoyed but that didn’t seem to change his attitude or service level, desserts arrived in a timely fashion - an underwhelming but nicely presented soufflé, delicious pistachio baklava, and yummy ice cream - and we finally were presented the check and left. We never saw a manager, never had anyone show up to apologize for any of our service issues- truly an unacceptable service level for a restaurant charging the prices...

There's honestly nothing at this restaurant to give it anything more than one star. We've frequented multiple mediterranean restaurants around the area but had never tried Mezza.

Stopped by Mezza on a Saturday evening and were seated at a table. One of the first things the server told us is that we must order appetizers and entrees together. I mean, what if we want to eat apps first, see how full we are and then decide if we want entrees or no? Is this a cheap tactic to make sure people order more and the restaurant earns more?

The service was absolutely atrocious. Despite this, we still ended up tipping. The pita came in 10 mins before the hummus with which we'd asked for pita. By the time the hummus came, the pita was cold. I wanted a re-fill of my diet coke and it took them 20 minutes for our server to come to our table. 20 minutes for a diet coke? Despite placing the order for entrees at the start, it took multiple reminders for the server to get us our food. She took away the unclean cutlery but didn't get back with clean ones despite multiple reminders. We eventually had to ask one of the people cleaning tables to get us cutlery.

When we asked our sever what took so long, she said she's swamped. Mind you, the restaurant only had 4 tables. If you're that swamped with 4 tables out of which someone else is taking care of 2 tables, don't be a server.

When the check came, there was a "credit fee" already added. Who did you ask before adding that? Did you tell the customers you'd be adding the additional 3% fee if they were paying by credit? If a customer comes in without cash, they're already paying 3% additional. What sort of business passes on your credit convenience fee to the customer?

Imagine paying $36 for 4 small cubes of chicken and this is the service you get.

Absolutely appalled by the experience here and would never be returning. Would also make sure we pass on our feedback to our friends and family...
