This is my second time shopping at world market but my first at the Livingston location. I have recently shopped at the bound brook location and had a pleasant experience. However, I cannot say the same for the Livingston location. Today I asked two associates a young man and an a older woman (mattia) where I could find the syrup pumps. The store carries large bottles of syrups and they also carry the pumps. Neither associate at first knew what I was asking for, they then told me that they knew what I was talking about and pointed across the store and told me āthey should be there if we have themā. I had just came from that spot and said āok Iāll check againā. The young man pointed at a separate section of the store and told me to check there. They were there which was great but, as someone who has personally worked in retail, customer service and sales for over 5 years I expected better customer service. Never in my 5 years of experience have I pointed to an area and said ācheck over thereā. I have always walked the customer over to the area to show them as I wanted to help them find what they needed. While I might be expecting āmuchā, the store was practically empty with only about 5 customers. There wasnāt a reason why neither associate could not have assisted me in finding my item. Needless to say, I will be going to bound brook from now on, as the staff are friendlier and have better...

First of all, WORST customer service ever. No surprise their stores are closingāsoon, their online store will bite the dust too.
I placed an online order for pickup. A week later i reached out to their chat and they told me my order is going to be THREE WEEKS LATE. Fine, whatever, Iāll deal with it. But then, I find out their so-called 20% promo is an absolute SCAM. Normally, when you open a credit card, you get your 20% discount applied to your statement, right? WRONG. With these geniuses, they email you a useless coupon code AFTER youāve already placed your order. Yeah, super helpful.
So, I reach out to their customer service chat. Guess what they said? āOh, you already got the 15% welcome discount, and coupons canāt be combined.ā EXCUSE ME? So, I opened a credit card FOR NOTHING.
Fine. Letās talk about my late order thenācan you at least compensate me for the inconvenience? NOPE. āYou already got the 15% welcome discount, and coupons canāt be combined.ā They just kept repeating the same thing like robots. no solution, NOTHING.
I know where Iām NOT shopping now. NOT...

Iāve always noticed when shopping here that Iāll have to wait at the register for at least 5 minutes till someone comes and that never usually bothered me, because Iām very patient. I only felt the need to write this review because of the attitude i received from one of the employees. I was checking out and I had over $200 worth of items and the cashier contiounsly was messing up with the register and such, but i still was being patient. When she asked me to put my phone number in I politely said I donāt want to sign up for the rewards program and she said itās not for that and asked me to put it in. Wanting to get out of the store I put my number in and she proceeded to tell me that I have no rewards membership, and I said i knew that and i didnāt want one. It ended with her saying well you put in the wrong number and it messed up the register. The way she said it was so condescending, that I left the store feeling upset because I just spent a lot of money for amazing products but had to deal with such horrible staff. If thereās another world market near you I suggest going to any other World...
