I don’t leave reviews often but I just had to, a bit over 2 weeks ago was my first visit to pin up salon, I booked a full highlight, trim and blow out with miss Ashlyn Camp, I was pretty nervous as it was my first time getting my hair professionally colored but she was extremely pleasant, well mannered and attentive. She asked several questions about my reference photo (and throughout the service) , we decided on a bronze-y/honey brown highlight not directly on the root, and it came out stunning, it was a TINY bit darker than I expected at first but they really popped after I washed my hair and got a bit of the toner out. It was gorgeous, I felt absolutely beautiful for my trip to New York. This was not what brought me to write this review though, just yesterday I called about some breakage/frizz around the nape of my neck (again newbie, did expect some damage especially as a curly/wavy haired girl but I was unsure what was appropriate) anyways, she took me in after work, she inspected my hair as well as the lead stylist, confirmed there was a bit of damage but it was rather minimal and basically isolated to just the nape of my neck, and went ahead and did a treatment on my hair, again Ashlyn was sweet and extremely attentive, she took her bangles off so they wouldn’t raddle near my ear at the wash bin, meticulously applied the repairing products, gave me advice on how to treat my hair, curly styled my hair, and gave me some products to go home with to stop the breakage and taper off further damage. She treated me with respect and was so patient. After the treatment the hair around the nape of my neck was already NOTICEABLY softer and had life again. I am extremely grateful for Ashlyn and this salon and I do intend to be a loyal client. If it isn’t clear yet, i 100% recommend...
Read moreI’m not one to get my hair cut often, but I still love Pin Up Salon in Loganville! Syd was my stylist again, and I really love her. My hair isn’t complicated. No color, no details, no angles, etc, but it is curly and frizzy. She still took her time and gave a few details such as layers to enhance the style instead of just a blunt straight cut. The experience was enjoyable. We had good conversation and she actually spoke loud enough that I could hear her over the blow dryer. She managed to bring life to my my boring, frizzy, and dead looking hair! I appreciated her giving me just as much attention with my basic cut as if I had a specialty cut. She also gave me recommendations on product to help tame it.
The salon is clean and cute with a retro vibe. Drinks are available as well as lollipops for the littles. My kids love to go for the lollipop! They are kid friendly which is a huge plus! Shelby has been my go to for my kids’ haircuts including the bang cut to correct my daughter’s attempt at cutting her own, but I also feel they are always welcome to tag along when I get my hair cut. Everyone is so nice, welcoming, and accommodating. There is also plenty of space between chairs so I never feel like we’re all up in someone else’s business!
I highly recommend Pin Up for the expertise and the experience! Following them on Facebook and Instagram is a must to see the great...
Read moreLevel Platinum Achieved! Ok, not my profile pic, but in all seriousness, in my 34 years of having my hair colored in punk or as they now call “fashion” colors, no one has ever been able to initially lighten it to platinum safely to achieve the desired effect and color that the shades of purple and lavender that will be the results. Kirsten took the time to allow the lightener to slowly do its job, no heat, just patience. Did it take time? Yes. Was she smart and book others in between? Yes and I’ve had other stylists do this as well. Had my daughter been in HS or home from college, she’d typically schedule a cut during this time. Once the appropriate level was achieved in all the foils, onto the color. The various depth and shades without my hair feeling like straw! She added the texture and angles that the photos shown had and more importantly, my hair type were able to work with.
We set realistic expectations. I know what my hair type is, she took her time, she continues her education which I LOVE. You need to have someone that does this. My last stylist didn’t and I always had strands of uncolored hair.
In all my years, all the places I’ve lived…who knew I had to come to the Sweet South to find a peach 🍑 stylist who is a master of her art! Your hair is her canvas…book your...
