Buyer Beware: Not only are the prices higher than most places in the area they use a scale that weighs items heavier than they are.
Today was my first time there. I was excited to see they had Georgia Wild shrimp, so I got a 2lb bag. When I got home, the bag looked light, so I weighed it on my food scale and postal scale, and both showed 1.15 lbs. Thinking that I was given a 1lb bag by mistake, I went back to the store to let them know. The lady told me that my scale was faulty and needed to be recalibrated. I informed her I weighed it on TWO different scales. Then showed her a photo of the shrimp on my scale at 1.15lbs . She then put them back on her scale and showed me 1.96 lbs (which isnât 2). The gentleman said to give me a few more to get it to 2 lbs. She looked me in the eye and said, âHoney, a lb of shrimp is 21 shrimp. I guarantee itâs 40, and you have 2 lbs. Recalibrate your scales.â Some guy in the background yelled out, âUse tare.â They never tried to test or ârecalibrateâ their scale. Unfortunately life has taught me that arguing with scammers is moot and I already wasted too much time with these people so I just left feeling angry and cheated. However, on the way home I figured I must have been overcharged on the other produce if thatâs the scale they used. When I got home, I weighed all the produce and saw that nothing was equal to weight it said on my receipt.
As for my scales and weighing know-how, I run an online business and use the postage scale daily. My numbers always match the numbers at UPS and USPS so I know my scales are right. However I am a science based professional so to test I weighed a 1lb bag lentils from my pantry and jar honey I bought from them both items were correct. Iâve attached photos of all of this.
This experience was so disappointing and I will...
Read moreI was introduced to this little spot by my baby sister, and I have not in over a year been disappointed! The produce always looks wonderful and usually they have exactly what I want, need or just HAVE TO HAVE! The time to hit this place is Friday afternoons or on the weekends! One of the owners heads to North GA mountains for the BEST baked goods EVER! The other (in season) heads to South GA coast for fresh Gulf shrimp (bigguns too!) Hot boiled peanuts, fresh assortment of sooo good watermelons and really too much to mention! Today's haul was okra and pickling cucumbers, peaches, Strawberries and fried pies with a side of apple Cider donuts!! It was too hot for cupcakes, but if you EVER see them out... DO NOT DENY YOURSELF THIS GLORIOUS INDULGENCE.. My hubby was very bummed I came home without đ˘. On weekends you can also usually find a BBQ food truck and an amazing out of the ordinary lemonade stand! Long story short..you will feel awesome about supporting this lil...
Read moreWas very disappointed to find out the owner goes to the grocery store every morning to buy produce for this stand. Iâm very confused because this stand comes off as One that makes you think youâre supporting local farmers ? I understand a family needs to make a living off a place like this and they do sell homemade soaps and 1 or 2 types of âlocalâ produce (by that i mean grown in Georgia and not actually local). So this stuff is definitely not guaranteed organic. This was told to me by a person working there. My guess is this individual probably werenât supposed to tell me this ? And i donât want to get them in trouble. But i was really bummed. I bought their very expensive eggs only because i Needed some anyway and just wanted to support a local business, as one should. But please just be honest about...
