Good Dog Co — Attraction in Lombard

Update 01.09.24: One of my dogs (Morty - black lab/corgi? mix) has been attending Day School at Good Dog Co since he was a puppy and he loves it! Danielle, the owner, has always been extremely honest & flexible with us from the start regarding the best plan for both of our dogs; it's clear that the team here has your pet's best interests in mind rather than just making money. The team is constantly giving me updates and feedback so that I can enhance both of my dogs' experiences both at day school & at home (for example - telling me which days Morty enjoys the most based on the group & play styles). They even mentioned that my other dog Sam is probably not the best fit for Day School/boarding as he would be too anxious to enjoy it, and gave us a few things to work on with him. Danielle easily could have just taken our money while leaving Sam miserably anxious, but instead she took the honest route. I am so grateful for the Good Dog Co community. It really feels like a family. Also, the pictures they post on Facebook daily are so cute. I look forward to them each day :)

Re: my original 2020 review below... we still take our Pyrenees/collie mix here once a month-ish for grooming. The staff has been so flexible with my anxious Sam, and they collectively work to set him at ease while he gets groomed. Julia does a fabulous job, leaving Sam smelling and feeling wonderful!

2020 Post: Having just moved to the area, we have taken our 3.5 year old Pyrenees/collie mix here for grooming twice but now plan on taking him once a month! He suffers from separation anxiety but the employees at Four Paws put him at ease and make him feel comfortable, which gives us peace of mind. They do a great job grooming and are extremely friendly. They are also honest about my dog's temperament and will give me a rundown on how he was. I plan on using Four Paws for boarding as well if necessary....

This is one of the best most exceptional dog daycares I have ever seen!!! We’ve gone through many from multiple moves and have never been so impressed!

Each and every staff member genuinely has such a love for these animals, and have dedicated their lives to loving and creating a successful environment for dogs to thrive in.

The most unique part of Good Dog: is a Montessori driven play & train, run by the wonderful trainers at the facility. These trainers are very experienced and clearly have invested a lot in the research behind dog training & psychology.

Additionally, it seems like every week/month they have a different themed focus for the dogs to learn from. For example, in July given fireworks for Independence Day, they work around the dogs subtly and gradually becoming acclimated to triggers from fireworks/loud noises.

We’ve boarded our dog multiple times here and have received great feedback and notes at the end of each day. Our dog is a mini Australian Shepherd, who is extremely anxious, and simply put he loves it at Good Dog! We have previously had a poor experience at another daycare out of state, so for us to trust another place, took a great deal of time.

I would highly recommend Good Dog to anyone in the area regardless of the type of dog you have. Because everyone in the staff is dedicated to loving and accepting every dog and has been trained, as such as well! We love them!

I came across Four Paws on Google when searching for the best daycare for my puppy. I am a crazy dog mom and also own a pet care service myself so I was VERY picky when it came to who I will trust with my baby. We decided to sign Kiyo up for the 15 day Day Training Program and it was the best decision we have ever made for him. He not only fell in love with all of Four Paws but he has came a long way as a very high active puppy to a very well behaved young man. After his training program, we decided to sign him up for continuous Day School. Four Paws is the only place I have ever seen offer this service and we absolutely love it. Since he is high energy, he not only needs physical exercise but also a ton of mental stimulation which is why Day School is perfect for him. He absolutely LOVES going to “school” and loves all of his Four Paws people friends.

Grooming is also a plus! One stop shop for us and since Kiyo has already associated Four Paws with fun, he doesn’t mind getting groomed.

Danielle is a great owner, very responsive, and genuinely cares about our baby. We couldn’t ask for a better place...
