I’ve been dealing with a cockroach infestation in my apartment for months, and despite three pest control visits, the issue is still ongoing. I’ve repeatedly asked management for help or at least some temporary accommodations, since I can’t safely use my kitchen appliances or store food anymore. The roaches have been found in my microwave, fridge, and coffee machine it’s become unbearable. When I spoke with Wendy Zimmerman, the Director of Property Management, she was rude, dismissive, and completely lacked empathy. I explained that I’ve been sleeping with all my lights on out of fear and that I’m unable to cook or eat in my own home. Instead of offering support or urgency, she talked over me and showed no concern for the distress this situation has caused. I’ve reached out to management several times, but they’ve now gone completely silent, refusing to provide any written response or plan of action. This experience has been stressful, unsanitary, and unacceptable for the rent I’m paying. If you’re considering living here, be aware that management does not take tenant health or hygiene seriously, and communication is nonexistent once you start raising concerns.

Great Place to Live 🌊 I really enjoy 1900 Ocean Beach Club 🌴 Location: Direct beach access from the 4G elevator. Great ocean views and close to shops, restaurants, and Bixby Park (free yoga!). Amenities: Pool, hot tub, gym, foosball, TV area, and a conference room. Parking is available (1 spot per bedroom). Laundry on-site for studios, in-unit for 1-bedroom and up. Apartments: Modern and well-kept. Mostly quiet, smoke-free, and some units have patios with great views. Management: Cynthia is super nice and helpful, and Richie brings everyone together with fun events. Nadya is a great manager! Maintenance is fast usually same day or next. Community: Pet-friendly with lots of dogs (and treats!). Friendly neighbors and a safe, clean building. Easy to find and make new friends 🔥 Value: Worth the price for what you get. Parking costs extra but is fair. Highly recommend!

Looks nice at first but this place is literally falling apart. Spent over $1000 on screens, weather stripping and insect traps just to make the place livable. Had to sleep in the living room for weeks because the one AC in the apartment is as far as possible from the bedroom and leaving the windows open let mosquitos in. Leash policies are non existent. I would not bring a child near this building. I'm confused with all the reviews praising the staff. They have never replied to a message or voicemail I've left. They have also been rude just about every time I've had to speak with them. This is without a doubt the only place I have ever lived that I truly hate.

1900 OCEAN IS AN OLD BUILDING BROKEN DOWN WITH HUGE LIVING PROBLEMS COVERED WITH GRANITE AND A FANCY COMMON AREA! Also, the Ocean View will trick you (rent a condo down the street that is new without these problems and it will cost less - these units are tiny and priced $400-$500 more than the condos on SAND of Ocean Blvd - do some research find a Realtor, get away from this PIG) and so will the office staff. This is a terrible building to live in!! Old building with no sound insulation and the neighbors blast their music 24/7 and loud arguments (ones that sound violent and scary as in should I call the police) - they let trash live in the apartments, esp the studios that surround all the normal rent paying units. Management does nothing to keep the noise down. A few people with questionable means of income also live in this building in the ocean front units and penthouses, they throw loud parties on weeknights even ... management does nothing because they are in the +$3,000 units (why would management care about a peasant like the average working person who only spends $2,000/month? If you want to ever get any sleep, this is not the place for you.

Next there is the cigarette and pot smoke. Again the building is old, smoke leaks in from units above, below, next to you , across the hall - your unit will be filled with smoke no matter where you live. Every resident knows this. They redid the facade of this building - but their is cross flow from smoke that comes in through the recessed lighting even. Smoke travels from the vents in the bathroom across halls. Everyone has smoke in their units - ask anyone on the elevators and they will tell you there is no way to block the smoke from coming in.

The Elevators! only 2 go down to the parking levels. One of the 2 that goes down is shut between 8pm - 8am everyday because it is too close to the unit next to it on each floor. So that leaves 1 elevator for this entire building for 1/2 of the day (including the morning when those that work are trying to get to work are stuck in an elevator traffic jam). There are no stairs from the 1st floor to the parking below (making the 3rd elevator useless if you live here - if you live here your car will be in its parking spot in the ground levels where only 1 ONE elevator serves the ENTIRE bu idling for 1/2 of the day.

Which leads to parking. two bedroom apartment = 1 parking spot. There are NO visitor spots, so don't expect to have a friend or date over ... unless they can find a spot (hard to do) on the street ... and this is a VERY DANGEROUS NEIGHBORHOOD!

This building attracts people from out of town who do not know better. If you want to live on the ocean in Long Beach contact a Realtor and rent one of the nice new condos down the street - they are cheaper and much larger than these over priced, loud dumps that people relocating to the area think is there only option to live on the Sand. Go to the Pacific or the Ocean Club (the huge beautiful white tower) and there are always opens for hundreds less in those buildings that are new and real lux - not just LIPSTICK on a PIG - 1900 is LIPSTICK ON A PIG. How I wish someone had written a review like this for me to read before I signed a lease here. Do not rent here. Living nightmare of NOISE, SMOKE, WAITING FOR ELEVATORS, OVERPRICED TINY UNITS, with NO PARKING!

When my lease is out I am out of this NIGHTMARE of...

I've had the privilege of calling 1900 Ocean my home for the past year, and I can confidently say that it is the most exceptional residential building I've ever had the pleasure of residing in. My journey here began with a warm welcome from Cynthia Arias, who, in many ways, became my first connection to this exquisite Long Beach community. Cynthia's kindness and impeccable attention to detail instantly won me over, making her an indispensable part of my experience.

Shortly after meeting Cynthia, I had the pleasure of encountering Paige McCracken, a true logistical genius. Paige effortlessly guided me through the paperwork process, ensuring a seamless transition into my new apartment. Her ongoing support has been invaluable, making her my go-to contact for any maintenance or assistance I may need. As a business owner with a hectic schedule, having a dependable staff like Paige is an absolute necessity.

Another standout member of the 1900 Ocean team is Jack Kurt, a tech wizard who has consistently gone above and beyond to assist me with various technological needs. From helping me set up my electric bill remotely to providing invaluable support for my business printing inquiries, Jack has proven to be an absolute godsend.

Recently, I made the decision to move into a remodeled unit within the same building, and I am delighted to say that the entire process was seamless, thanks to the collective efforts of the 1900 Ocean team. I must commend our newest Director, Ray Martinez, for his outstanding dedication and commitment to the well-being of our tenants. Ray made my swift relocation effortless, and I truly couldn't have done it without him.

The 1900 Ocean staff feels more like a close-knit family than anything else. I'd be remiss not to mention our wonderful concierge, Danny, who has consistently gone the extra mile to assist me with package handling and ensuring that my deliveries are sent out promptly.

In conclusion, 1900 Ocean is more than just a place to live; it's a welcoming and supportive community. The exceptional staff members, including Cynthia, Paige, Jack, Ray, and Danny, have transformed this luxury apartment building into a true home for me. I'm immensely grateful for their dedication and commitment to ensuring that every resident's experience is nothing short of...

I’m breaking my rule of being only positive because sometimes it is important to go on record so that places I don’t enable bad behavior by not speaking up. The lack of integrity from most of the staff and corporate personnel at 1900 Ocean soured almost all the joy that I received from the beautiful view. To be accused of something ridiculous by the building manager and then wrongly charged in the move out with no means for recourse or appeal is criminal. Corporate unresponsive at best, brutal at worst. As someone on Reddit pointed out, calling it luxury leasing is an oxymoron as the elevators alarm Systems and frequent dog urine or smell of dog urine in the elevators a non-heated pool as advertised and constantly non-stocked coffee area but most importantly the staff do not exhibit that particular adjective, with the exception of Richie and Jaime and Josh and Tara who were the positive reasons I moved in and stayed so long. The way I was accused of something as ridiculous as saying there was a bomb threat in the building by the building Manager formerly friend, so I could leave by police escort for a medical emergency during the parade is unbelievable and definitely has left the worst taste in my mouth from what had previously been the most amazing view to enjoy when I came home every day. The friendship ended when I insisted that the security fob policy was illegal and got my deposit back was the reason for the turnaround in attitude. In fact many residence left because of the incredible illogical illogic displayed through that whole security system change. Worse, there is no recourse in that building as the executive group never responds and backs poor behavior in their staff consistently. But grateful to be somewhere that is actually luxury now and will try to remember the former view and NOT LY-ING Living. PS. And having one of your assistant manager leasing agents fill out a review with five stars is a little bit conflict...
