Bixby Park — Attraction in Long Beach

What's not to love. Bixby park has the weather, blue skies, cool ocean breeze, shady trees, lots of green grass, lots of in space, and diversity is alive and well here.

I came here in the past with my family to do barbecues on holidays. The kids played in a fenced in, kiddie swing set area. Long Beach Parks & recreation supports lots of great activities here that I've participated in as well as my kids. Bixby Park is a beautiful, well maintained park with a spread among 3 blocks from Broadway St to Ocean Avenue overlooking the ocean, of course. Kudos to the maintenance & gardeners cause Bixby Park is a great setting to enjoy the various fitness stations, exercise walking, jogging, youth sports, special interest classes, walking your dog-lots if dogs. abd there even 2 adjacent, fenced in dog parks- free poop bags supplied and whatever your Zen might be. do it here.. Someyomes I just like to parked and enjoy the vibe here and it seems like everyday is the weekend here.. zest thing I like is that there is so much going on and all different and evrryone keeps to themselves respectfully speaking. Did I mention there is a skate board slab here.. Bixby home to many; tourist city almost so beautiful multi-national just one specific part of the beach side; of the westside of our great continent. America ! Yeah we have pride but we don't want to be too proud and we always give a man a chance to prove themselves benefit of the doubt smiles and good conversation rules the nation. The vibe will make you relax. Get away from your worries for a minute. After they took down the goal we still had ten people doing drills on the basketball court. Talk about strength; Long beach in it for the long haul and a beach party at anytime. Oh a place oh what a place to relax and feel the vibe. You'll see many activities don't be afraid to socialize. Eating in a so-called fandemic things are peaceful the city is after even to a curfew. A place where I had Revisited by childhood and had no guilt about riding my skateboard as a middle-aged man . I was free , kick my feet and push to the sand, sit back relax and listen to the waves Roar. Don't get distracted ; you might find some honey and some bees with the honey and the butterflies might come to mind. Bixby Park is a medium sized Park located in the center of town on the beach, or just above that is. There you can find lots of amenities to keep yourself busy including a dog park for large and small dogs, a nice fountain-like area where you can sit and read, a wooded area with shade where you can lay out a blanket, or even a skatepark where you can hit a fakie impossible over a fire hydrant. Much like a lot of other places in Long Beach there seems to be a reoccurring theme or shall I see an air of disdain for the homeless. In this case up until recently the bathrooms had been closed for months leaving you with no other option to relieve yourself other than to walk moderate distance and down a switchback to the beach to use the disgusting Beach bathrooms. Luckily this has since changed and the restrooms have been reopened. Now Monday through Friday you can have a good time with the entire family with a newly renovated playground and basketball courts available to use with it only being a little more crowded on the weekends.There is a farmer's market once a week with venders and food available.
