Visionary Artware Gallery and Studio — Attraction in Long Beach

A few years ago I was looking for a hobby that I might actually be able to do. I'm no artist---can't draw, paint, knit or anything else. Somehow, I thought I might be able to learn to work with mosaic tile. I thought I could learn to "cover" a pot or a three dimensional object. After I found Visionary Artwork online, I called to ask a few questions about the beginning class. Being a fairly shy person, even the phone call was difficult for me. Not knowing my name, Mina addressed me as "sweet" and instinctively, I felt that she was the teacher for me. Mina's kindness, sense of humor, and sincere interest in every student cannot be overestimated. She is a talented artist, and that rare, natural teacher that can change your life. My friend and I took the Beginner Mosaic class. Our teacher (and owner) Mina, was very knowledgeable and explained the process of creating a mosaic thoroughly. Having context makes any new craft easier so the how’s and why’s helped set the foundation for learning this new skill. It was a small group so each person received direct attention with any questions that arose. Everything we needed was provided and we had the option of grouting the piece ourselves or having it done for us. I highly recommend this class! I took my first intro to mosaic class in February 2023 and I haven't stopped since. I'm on my 4th class, which is the advance and last class Mina offers and I plan to continue going to the studio and working on my own projects after I finish all her classes. Visonary Artware is a great community of artists and Mina is inviting, warm, and funny.

The gift shop is also awesome. There are so many unique items and gifts for any occasion. I purchased all my Christmas gifts there last year and my family and friends loved the gifts.
