I go to long lake for boating, better be early on the weekend, only about 12 spots to park then your on your own. Great lake for tubing etc. Launch is a bit tricky due to the uneven surface. If you can't get a spot at long you can go to Lake independence pretty close...

Well maintained. The beach is usually clear of debris and bird poop. The swimming area is clearly marked with buoys and a floating barrier. There are grills (away from the beach) for cooking as well as a swing set and climbing...
