Went here today 05/07/25I asked specifically for no onions add cheese add sour cream and then change my mind about the sour cream, because you can't trust restaurants nowadays with the dates on their inventory. So I said I'll take it home and so I waited 10 minutes, I brought it home. I had a crap ton of cilantro on there, I had no cheese on there. There was nothing like I asked how do you get that wrong it's so simple. so it's nothing like driving 10 minutes home and then having to come back and then having to engage with the customer service representative, who wanted to say that I said something else but I would never order Mayyo on a Taco. I don't think there's any American that does that. anyways I had to tell the CSR person not to argue with the customer having been done customer service myself for 15 years and work in restaurants. If a customer says they ask for something normally they ask for it, yet we cannot challenge them and say you didn't say that. That's not how customer service works. The only reason it upset us so much is because I bring it home for our family, because the wife has to go to work, and now I got to spend an extra 10 minutes running back to the restaurant while I'm losing time getting ready so she can go and and I got to pick up the slack and I can't pick up the slack if I'm running back and forth for food. We all want it done right. Repeat the order back to the customer. Affirm what it is. Make the food check it before you give the to the customer. Even if you know what you were supposed to order, the cooks don't always do the right stuff. Cuz we got sent home with a...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem tucked behind the Marathon gas station next to the laundromat. Don't let the location deter you; Talavera is not to be missed! My husband and I love Mexican food, and measure a restaurant by how well they do three things on every Mexican restaurant menu: the guac, the rice, and the beans. Done well, it not only sets the restaurant apart, but it nearly guarantees that everything else will be great. And Talavera does these things better than well. They take the time to do the simple things right. The guac and beans were silky and flavorful. The rice was fluffy and delicious. (Not like the sticky rice you get at so many places that comes in the shape of the ice cream scoop it was served with.) Each grain of Talevara's rice was perfectly cooked and packed with authentic flavor. That paved the way for an outstanding meal of enchiladas de mole with chicken and enchiladas potosinas with carnitas. Both were light, fresh, tender, juicy and perfectly sauced (not drowning) so the flavors of every ingredient was perfectly balanced. Be sure to try the choriqueso, too! This is our new...
Read moreThe wife and I tried to eat here but the restaurant had clearly over booked itself with a children's party. The party took up basically all the workable space in the restaurant. They sat us at the bar and then basically ignored us for over 10 min. It just went downhill from there, we ordered a couple beers which came about another 10 min later, another 13 min after that our chips came out which we had to beg for without the salsa, which never did come, while the giant table behind was continuously given fresh everything, yes we did ask multiple times. The staff kept running into the back of us not apologizing for it or acknowledging it. We are now almost 35-40 min into a mexican meal and have only been given chips with nothing to dip them into. Needless to say we finished our drink and just left. I don't think we'll be back with that...
