Crystal Joys — Attraction in Longmont

I have loved this shop for a while now, but the last experience I had was upsetting, and I don't know if I'll return...

I recently went into Crystal Joys to treat myself to some new goodies, due to having a difficult week.

Upon walking in, there was a woman reorganizing the shelves maybe three to four feet away from me. Didn't acknowledge me, didn't even look up from what she was doing. No worries, maybe she was hyper focused on her work. I started walking around and when another few customers walking in the door, immediately the employee stopped what she was doing and greeted/interacted with them. Again, I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt, chalking it up to she didn't realize I had walked in when she was organizing the shelving, so I kept on.

I tried understanding from her point of view until she passed me two to three times and didn't say a word, didn't acknowledge me, didn't ask if I was doing okay, nothing, and while I understand some times there are distractions, one of the times she walked passed me, she went right up to the other customers to see if they were still doing okay, and this, I cannot find an excuse for. I felt completely unwelcomed by this particular employee and the energy from her was very off putting to me.

I was in there, probably 20 minutes, and not once did she even do so much as smile in my direction.

Thankfully, another employee came out from the back of the store and was warm and kind asking if I needed any help finding anything and eventually rang me out at the end. Thank you to that employee for her kindness, but I don't think I will be back, as the blatant disregard for my presence by the other employee made me uncomfortable, unwelcomed,...

The Crystal Joys location in Longmont is absolutely stellar. Not only were the items beautiful, they had a wide variety and each stone looked high quality. I was immediately drawn in by the beautiful window display. I was helped by an amazing woman at the store named Dionne, who was very helpful in many ways! She immediately let my friend and I know, very warmly, to ask her if we had any questions and that she’d answer them to the best of her knowledge and ability. I asked her a few questions, the first being about an item that wasn’t labeled or priced. She swiftly told me what the stone was and went to make a reminder to make labels as soon as possible for that item, and apologized that it may have caused inconvenience. Very sweet. Then, I was feeling spontaneous and had already been drawn in by her friendly nature, so I asked her which stone variety of unicorn carving I should get. She took this decision very seriously and thought about the benefits of each stone, talking me through her thinking. Hearing her knowledge helped me make a decision and I was so excited! I had brought some items to check out, but then wanted to look around more, so she told me she’d “guard them with her life” and offered to bag them up for me! Not only is she considerate… she is funny, friendly, and went above and beyond! I was super happy to have gone to this store, especially with such an awesome experience with staff! I really enjoyed my first visit and conversation with staff while perusing items, but had to make a return as I was overcharged for an item. I double checked to be sure my name/# were definitely on a waiting list for a crystal piece of jewelry said to be arriving in the following 2 weeks. I was never contacted regarding the arrival of incoming stock. Sadly, intuition tells me that this was due to the "high maintenance " return I had to return to CrystalJoys for due to the overcharge (which cost me time and effort).
